Pros:

The staff were excellent. Room very clean etc

Cons:

It might have been nice to have more breakfast options ie bowl of soft fruits, granola and while the cooked breakfast was good. , again something more interesting with eggs eg with a little smoked salmon or spinach

A nice hotel in a good location but could do with a bit of fine tuning!
Pros:

Very friendly and helpful staff (when they were there!). Good location and a decent breakfast. Rooms were nice.

Cons:

Although we arrived before the check in time of 3pm (only by an hour), we had hoped to drop our bags early but the whole place was a ghost town. Hotel was open but no one to be seen! Pressed the bell and waited but weirdly there was just no one around. We came back an hour later and it was fine. Hung the 'service the room' card on the door at 9.30am and went out all day but when we came back late afternoon the room had not been done which was poor. Appreciate it was out of season so a skeleton staff are probably operating but if there is no service option then don't leave the cards on the door. Also the reading light by the bed didn't work.

Pros:

Stunning sea view that's only partially obscured by a 19th century church. (if anything it adds to the vista!)
The Fig Tree is clean and in good condition and the staff are very welcoming and friendly.
The hotel is perfectly located; only a few minutes walk from the old village to the rear of the premises, or Shanklin Chine to the front.
I didn't even want to write a review because selfishly I wanted to keep the Fig Tree mine and my partners secret!

Cons:

Small carpark that can accommodate three vehicles at the front (one blue badge spot)
Otherwise there's an overflow carpark at the rear of the property.

Great!
Pros:

All staff members were lovely, professional and polite. My room was cozy and super clean, with a fridge, kettle and some complimentary tea and coffee. The breakfast was various with several options to suit different tastes. The hotel is well positioned, just a few min walk from the train station and all main attractions. Even the bus stop for the coastal route is right in front of the hotel. Can’t complain about anything, it was a very pleasant stay.

Excellent 4 night stay, easy parking and dog friendly!
Pros:

Renovated hotel close to the town centre with shops, pubs and restaurants. Good car parking in front and to the rear easy access to the hotel (some steps).....lift to rooms. Room are a good size, very clean and modern; very modern rain shower; some rooms have a small balcony overlooking the church with the sea in the distance. Staff very friendly; lovely bar with comfortable seating areas. Good breakfast with a good choice of cooked eggs; dogs were allowed in the bar area during breakfast. Excellent housekeeping.
We had a small issue with our room the 1st night, and the next day this was resolved; by staff (young man) advising we could move to another room (same specification). This was very much appreciated by us. Above and beyond!!
Overall we have a very comfortable 4 nights at this hotel and if ever we return to the Isle of Wight we would stay again! By the way very dog friendly!

Pros:

Nice room and staff.

Cons:

It would have been a great hotel if they managed their heating properly. It's not great to be awakened early in the morning by how cold the room is.

Lovely stay in great location
Pros:

The hotel was very pretty, staff were lovely, breakfast was delicious (and our dog was welcome to come down to breakfast with us), and our room itself was really nice and very comfortable. Location of the hotel was excellent too. Have already recommended this hotel to family members, especially those with dogs.
