Pros:

Had a really good stay, the owner is very friendly, only 10 min walk to underground so good location. Rooms and bathrooms are clean. Would definitely recommend!

It has an elevator to the rooms and staff are friendly

Cons:

The bed and the pillow were too hard, there are no bedside tables or suitcases stand so everything goes on the floor . No light switches close to the bed, so it was chaotic for me. I checked out after just one day and lost the other day!

Pros:

I liked that it was clean, the neighbourhood was also clean. Staff are very friendly. It wasn’t hard to check in nor check out. Close to underground stations. The Uber driver scared me when i arrived he said it wasn’t a safe area when I arrived late at night. However, the next morning I was surprised about how calm it was.

Excellent!
Pros:

Ali was very courteous and made me feel welcome at the guesthouse. I felt like if i had any issues with the room i could have brought them up to him. If I'm ever up east london again, i will definitely keep city gate guesthouse in mind when looking for accommodation

Pros:

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Ali was incredibly kind and polite from the moment we arrived. He allowed us to check in earlier than expected and also kindly let us leave our luggage with him even after we had checked out, which helped us a lot.

The room was beautiful, very clean, and comfortable. There were free coffee, tea, and biscuits available in the room as well. Whenever we had questions, they were answered quickly. We also appreciated that we could enter the hotel and take showers at any time, since it’s accessible 24 hours.

The location is also great, with restaurants nearby, convenience stores with very cheap prices, and easy access to the metro and buses.

Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We will definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you so much to Ali and the whole team for the kindness and care!

Pros:

Amazing stay, budget friendly and close to the the train station. Above all, I am really pleased with the ground staff, Ali. My arrival was disrupted due to a major flight delay but Ali made sure I checked in to my convenience and was helpful throughout the stay. Will definitely recommend for solo travellers!

The room was lovely and spacious, really comfortable and clean. The staff are lovely as well. Although it was a shared bathroom, it was very clean.

Cons:

A fridge in the room would make this even better.

Cheap, Easy, Large rooms
Pros:

Was great price, and the staff member was extremely welcoming and helpful. Room was a great size especially for in London. Place seemed to be updated pretty recently and for the price would absolutely come back.

Cons:

Had a room that was sofa bed and double bed, double bed was fine but sofa bed was super uncomfortable. Overall for price being a cheap stay was totally fine but if we were not a group of young people just trying to find cheap place to crash the sofa bed may not be great for everyone. We also had to made the sofa bed into a bed which usually some places will make the bed up if you have it booked for 3 guest or 4.. I would still rebook again though!
