Fabulous hotel. Room was gorgeous, food was delicious and location perfect for exploring the Monsal trail
Warm and friendly greeting on arrival. All the staff are helpful and the young lady called Imogen who took our order was most helpful as there are certain things I cannot tolerate. She was extremely patient to make sure everything was checked and just right. We will certainly be returning again soon.
There wasn't anything I didn't like.
The accommodation was clean, staff were very pleasant and efficient, the food was of good quality and variety, the room and bathroom were a good size and comfortable. The TV had a wide range of channels and we enjoyed little personal touches like a hand written note in our room and some good quality chocolates.
No complaints.
Breakfast was excellent…..staff very friendly & location perfect to explore Peak District
Maybe 2pm check in would be better
Fantastic place to stay in an amazing location.
The staff were great, the room was comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. We also had an evening meal which was exceptional.
Thoroughly enjoyed our break here and would definitely recommend!
Nothing
Brilliant location for us walkers. The customer service from every single member of staff we engaged with was superb. They really know how to look after their guests. I must say the food was also absolutely amazing ! We had all our meals there over the three days and good value for money as the quality was top notch !
It was unusually warm while we stayed and our room (Marvin) was very warm at night as it had a small window which we could only open a small amount as there was a window lock preventing it opening any more.
Everything about the Ashford Arms was lovely - the staff were friendly and helpful, the location was ideal for exploring Derbyshire with Chatsworth really close by, as well as other tourist spots. The whole place was decorated beautifully with lovely, characterful touches, including in our room. We had an evening meal there which was brilliant, and breakfast was delicious too. Plenty of parking, and really pretty quiet and comfortable overnight for a pub - not our usual pub stay experience! Would definitely recommend.
It wasn't a problem for us as such, but the shower in our room was rather small and would be a challenge for some people.
Good value and great food. Friendly staff. Pretty area.
Great location, good food and friendly staff.
Noisy room above the kitchen - extractor fan shook room until 22:00 and started again around 07:00.
As a solo traveller the staff made me feel safe, comfortable and valued
Nothing
the room, though smaller, was well laid out. We liked it enough that after our initial night, we booked for an additional 3 nights. Staff were fantastic. Location was very useful for us. Quiet and small town.
Our room was directly above the kitchen. There were times where the staff were a little louder. At first we thought it was a neighbouring room but the hall was quiet. It was mostly around 8:30 -10:30 PM which happened to be when we were in our room unwinding and getting ready for bed. Didn't notice on the first night because we were in the restaurant from 8:30 -10:15. The next nights we ate earlier and noticed it during the evening after dinner. Certainly not a deal breaker.
Just a fantastic property the old and new works very well.
All Excellent.
Great location, excellent food and friendly, helpful staff.
Room was clean and comfortable but surprisingly small for the price paid.
What breakfast? I did not want anything cooked and asked for cereal but they did not have any! This was made worse by the fact there is a store across the street that surely must have sold cornflakes but it seemed beyond the capability of the girl serving to go and get some. So, in the absence of any cereal, we settled on croissants (plural) and when it (singular) did arrive it was dry and stale.
The room was nice enough but tiny compared to the size of the bed.
