Disappointing - compared with when it was a Premier Inn.
Pros:

Very average stay. Room, corridors and bar area very clean. Room heating worked well and was needed as room was cold on arrival. Good quality towels in bathroom. Adequate supply of bathroom toiletries and tea/coffee. Excellent location close to start of motorway.

Cons:

Restaurant/bar very poor. Lots of dishes unavailable, 3/5 beers unavailable, only one white wine available. Very strange for salad to be offered as a ‘vegetable of the day’ when served with pie, mash and gravy.
Breakfast ok except for worst scrambled eggs I’ve ever been offered - reconstituted and cold too.
Bed uncomfortable with rather saggy mattress, causing us to roll towards the middle. No where near as comfortable as Premier Inn Hypnos mattress previously experienced. Needs replacing.
No electrical points near bed for charging phone

Excellent budget hotel, well worth a stay if in the area.
Pros:

Lovely hotel, does what it says on the tin, its a budget hotel, but it has everything you need for a comfortable break.

Cons:

Breakfast could be better, but to be fair at the price can't really fault it.

Needs a good clean
Pros:

pleasant staff and the bed was comfy although it was very squeaky

Cons:

There was stains on the carpets, muck all over the walls/skirting boards, there was hairs/shower gel marks in the bath and what I’m guessing was sick marks around the toilet that could’ve been cleaned up! My sister and her partner stayed too and had dirty towels/hairs/muck everywhere too. We had food in the restaurant and it was served in takeaway boxes which was odd, very mid food.

Pros:

Closeness to A1, when we found the hotel. Room was clean. Shower was great.

Cons:

Lack of signage when coming off the A1. Room was cold and couldn't get it to warm up. Car park a bit rough as was route from car park.

Bates Motel would have been preferable.
Pros:

The lady who checked me in did apologies about the food and gave me a free drink. Although no refund was offered!

Cons:

The worst food I have ever eaten! and I’ve travelled worldwide for the last 22 years. Radiator on full blast and couldn’t be turned off. Itchy bed sheets and unclean room. Couldn’t wait to leave.

Functional
Pros:

Friendly staff

Cons:

It'd clearly an old Premier Inn repurposed - rooms were clean however one towel had a dirty stain - folded side up so clearly visible - the window covers (full length wooden sliding doors) would shut but one side wouldn't then open without brute force
Bed was comfy enough
Only one available socket - other used for the tv
