Pros:

We loved this stay. Perfect location nestled between barefoot and raux brothers and close to other great restaurants, cafes and shops. The room was huge, light and airy. WiFi worked well and the ac and hot water were efficient. The staff were friendly and attentive. The pool was a great way to cook down after being out in the bustling city.

I would definetly come back to stay!
Pros:

Very friendly staff, spacious room, large desk very suitable to professionally work, ice cold refrigerator.

Cons:

There were some A/C issues which are under attention though, so should be fixed.
The immediate location area is a bit ‘rough,’ while within a few minutes walk you can reach local icons, such as Gallery Cafe, Baguette Bakery, etc. So it’s simply a matter of perspective and travel experience.

Cons:

I arrived very late at night from Galle to Colombo and checked-in to my hotel. I was exhausted, nobody helped me with my luggage. The reception was not helpful at all. She took me to show me the room, I asked if I should bring my luggage by myself or if someone will bring it for me, she acted like she was surprised by my question, and she told me I have to bring my own luggage.

I didn't like her tone or the way she treated me. I went into the room and was looking for the WIFI password, thinking its somewhere printed or on a piece of paper, I couldn't find it and couldn't connect to the internet, so I called reception several times and nobody picked up. I had to go downstairs to the reception again and ask for the WIFI passport. This was not nice at all.

On the positive side, the room was very spacious and clean. The bathroom was tiny and uncomfortable though but I stayed only for a couple of hours and had to leave to the airport.

Pros:

Fantastisk sted og meget luksuriøst. Stort værelse med alkove, skab, mørkelægningsgardiner, stor seng, tv og meget fint bad. Pool og fællesrum var enormt hyggelige og personalet var 10/10. Mig og min mand havde årsdag, og de hjalp med at arrangere en rooftop dinner for os med lys og blomster. Kan varmt anbefale dette sted. Ligger tæt på shopping.

Hospitable, warm, helpful, professional and top class facilities.
Pros:

The staff! I stayed there over the week I was performing my dad’s final right and it was a really emotional time for me. Nuwan, Wendy, Pere and Suwen were absolutely fantastic, friendly, helpful and made feel feel safe, welcomed and comfortable. They were always available and quick to respond. Not only were they professionals at their job, but also very sensitive and warm. Taprobane House showcases Sri Lankans hospitality and kindness to its best! It was hard to imagine that in the chaos of busy Colombo this hotel can provide a five star sanctuary. I’ll definitely stay again!

Pros:

Staff and chef very nice but attention to detail : ie we always travel with vehicle and there was work going on and the roller shutter was opened and then I get out, and mention about the works as then ah .. oh yeah need to deal with that …two out of the available power socket in the room had broken plug and could not take it out ; AC was struggling ; but the housekeeping guy and door security always nice .. we have stayed there approx half a dozen times in the past .. we can pay same money with nice coffee down the road .. hope it’s a positive feedback and apologies if it offends ..
