Pros:

What a gem in Colombo. The Taprobane House felt like home to me shortly after entering. It has a very special vibe, very warm and attentive staff, and food to die for. Definitely my new favorite hotel when I'm in the capital.

Long stay, coming again!
Pros:

I wish I could live here. I love it so much.
The staff are so friendly & chatty, but they never have made me feel imposed on or uncomfortable.
The only place that serves one of my comfort meals—toast with beetroot & poached eggs.
The rooms are clean & helps my very sensitive allergies settle.
There are rarely any loud sounds coming from the outside at night, but if there was, I feel the staff would proactively handle it.
The chefs are so nice & passionate about their work. I was happy to review their experimental dishes during my second stay.
The rough bathroom floor as so nice since I tend to slip a lot. The body lotion smells like floral incense & I love it very much.

Cons:

During both times of my stay, there were very delibitating issues. No vegetables, construction going on right outside my room or above. The noise was very loud and constant, & I'm vegetarian.
I'm not sure where to stay comfy while the room is being serviced, so I ended up not getting it during both my stays. I wish there were more vegetarian dishes to choose from.
Parking is difficult since none of the taxis actually park into the small area they provide, & that road is tiny. It causes me a lot of anxiety since I hate inconviniencing other people.
The wifi isn't great so I just relied on my data.

Top Stylish Boutique hotel
Pros:

Excellent airy and modern boutique hotel. Convenient to get around Colombo and with Barefoot and Gallery Cafe around the corner.
Hotel and restaurant are a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of Colombo streets. Rooftop pool has nice view to the ocean and feels very private. Excellent option in Colombo.

Tolle Erfahrung für 2 Tage in Colombo
Pros:

Sehr ästhetisch und schön, sehr nettes Personal, sehr leckeres Frühstück, sehr gemütliches Bett. Der Rooftop Pool war das Highlight, mit perfekt temperiertem Wasser und einer Aussicht über Colombo und das Meer.

Cons:

Die Dusche ist leider sofort übergelaufen, auch wenn man nur 2 min geduscht hat.

Gorgeous, modern and tasteful boutique hotel
Pros:

Beautiful boutique hotel. Only 12 rooms. Large comfortable rooms, great pool. Nice modern airy style of the property. Excellent location for exploring Colombo.

Cons:

Bathroom has no divider to the bedroom, so feels a bit public

Sejour tres agreable
Pros:

etablissement tres propre et proche de tout. les chambres sont en double vitrage et l insonorisation de la rue est plutot bonne
piscine sympa en roof top, repas tres bon
Le personnel est au petit soin , tres sympathique.
Je recommande

Cons:

Ce n est qu une question de gout mais je n aime pas trop la salle de bain ouverte sur la chambre meme si du coup on a vraiment une sensation d espace.
la climatisation demanderait a etre un peu plus fraiche mais elle rafraichi quand meme

Perfect location with spacious comfortable rooms
Pros:

We love Taprobane and have stayed several times over the past few years. The rooms are huge and have big comfy beds. WiFi works well and there is tea and coffee in the rooms. The location is perfect. Super close to all the local amenities and places to visit. Just walking distance from Barefoot cafe (literally next door). The pool is great for a cool down. The staff were mostly really nice. The reception staff were great. They allowed us to check out late which was really helpful. All in all it was great and we would most probably be back at some point.

Cons:

Not much we didn't like. The water in the shower was hot for about 3.5 seconds and then ran cold so you had to be quick for a hot shower. The pool was super clean the first day but by the next day obviously not been cleaned and there was a lot of crows and pigeons using it as their personal bath.

Pros:

The location and place was nice and the price was reasonable.

Cons:

The staff were lost and around 5:30 in the morning one staff tried to open my room using the spare key! Which I shouted that wait!
