Geweldig
Pros:

Fijne kamer met lekker schoon en heerlijke bedden. Zeer vriendelijk personeel

Cons:

Bij aankomst verbouwing werkzaamheden. Gelukkig was het maar 1dag. En geen openbaar toilet in de lobby

We were very happy with the choice.
Pros:

The location was excellent. It was a small. charming guesthouse type place converted from an old colonial house. No restaurant but a nice breakfast. The rooms were nice and bathrooms big. The staff were able to arrange a driver to take us to Negombo at a reasonable price and a tuk tuk to Turtle Beach.

Cons:

Many of the staff had limited English. We tried to change a 5,000 rupee note for a tuk tuk driver but there was no cash box/cashier facility.

A Bastion of Relaxation
Pros:

We loved the location near Flag Rock Bastion and the lighthouse. It was a calm neighborhood. It's very quiet, no noise, not even from the AC unit outside. You can do yoga on the first-floor sitting area. The breakfast was copious. The entire property was super clean. The staff was super friendly and did their best to fulfill our requests. Mr Fayas was particularly helpful and friendly.
We were very pleased that this guesthouse was built in a historic building.

Cons:

This nine-room guest house is just 3 years old, as of 2026 Januar, so it is still working out minor issues. It is already close to perfection. Our room would have been more comfortable with a 2nd chair and a suitcase stand/table.

Stay was lovely but it could be much better
Pros:

Location and vibe of the property was great. Room was a little tight for 3 people. Staff was super friendly and helpfull and always available.

Cons:

Room could be a bit bigger. There can be some provision for Mosquitos as they got in if we missed closing the door. Some staff help post 9.30 would be great too.

Excellent location, very basic accommodation.
Pros:

Excellent location right in the heart of Galle Fort. Everywhere we wanted to see and visit (restaurants, shops, attractions) was easily walkable from the property.

Cons:

Please be aware that the accommodation is very basic and a bit tired for the price. There are no tissues, slippers/sliders, amenity kits, robes, etc provided - you will need to bring everything yourself (although there is hand soap and shower gel). Towels were old and tired - not suitable for paying guests. The breakfast is also very average for the price. The main highlight of the stay is that the bed was very comfortable, there was air conditioning in the room (a god send in the heat) and the staff were very attentive and caring.

Comfortable and great location.
Pros:

The staff were amazing and really friendly. The location is great to explore Galle fort. The rooms were a good size as well.

Cons:

The first room we were in didn’t have a ceiling fan, so it meant we either had to have the A/C on for most of the night which wasn’t the most comfortable. I appreciate that the breakfast set up is a lean operation but the western option really wasn’t great unfortunately.

Villa stay in the centre of Galle old town
Pros:

I really wanted an old style villa stay in Galle and wasn't disappointed by boutique The Fort House. Beautifully renovated with a light courtyard inside & verandahs around. Rooms are up stairs. The room was cosy with period furnishings. Level walking to everything in the old town. Breakfast was delicious.

Good hotel and location
Pros:

The hotel is in a nice location in Galle Fort. The staff were very helpful and breakfast was tasty. The room was comfortable and we slept well on the bed. Great value and location
