Desert Sands Dakhla Lagoon View & Kitesurf Spot

Le service pour le kite n'est pas très bon. Nous sommes venus avec notre propre équipement et avons payé pour le service qui comprend la conduite jusqu'à la plage avec le matériel (qui serait tout à fait faisable à pied), aide pour la mise en place de l'équipement, décollage et atterrissage. Plusieurs fois la personne qui nous conduisait est partie sans nous aider à décoller le kite (heureusement l'un de nous est capable de le faire de manière indépendante). Il n'y a personne qui reste sur la plage donc personne pour atterrir les kites.
Si on aime les sessions de kite tôt le matin ou au coucher de soleil, le centre de kite est fermé donc on doit se débrouiller tout seul.
Il n'y a pas de place au sec pour atterrir les kites donc très rapidement le matériel devient sale (le sable sur la plage est toujours mouillé à cause des changements de marée). Ne pas emporter son kite tout neuf!

Lagoon can get busy

The way the property operates is like a scam. And there’s also an issue on safety.
I reserved a Deluxe bungalow, a 484 sqr ft room with beds and bedroom with amenities as advertised, and with a bathroom with shower and hairdryer etc, . However, the room assigned to us was not the room I reserved and paid for. We were told that there are no more rooms available and that to ask the manager the day after.
The room they put as in was half the size of what I paid for, with 2 twin beds, the bathroom and shower is outside and in a separate structure which requires walking outside at least 50 meters. And the power goes out after midnight. I had to walk in the dark, on the sand, at 2am to use the bathroom, and got locked in at one point. My husband, who realized I was missing for a while had to walk out and open
the door from the outside. It’s a safety issue.
My complain is why accept my reservation and take my money if the said room is not available? And if we walk out and not accept the room we will not get a refund? And the manager never got back to us?
We checked out and did not spend the last night in the property. We were very disappointed and very uncomfortable staying another night.
I am requesting to be reimbursed for the difference in payment.

The room could have had a fan. A space for drying clothes would also have helped since I saw a lot of people trying to dry their clothes.

1- False Advertising and deceptive trade policies
2- Owner/Manager tried extorting a positive review after promising a 2 night refund for the done issues he admitted were faulty
3- accommodation was in horrible shape and the owner/manager admitted this. See attached Whattsapp excerpts. And see the “view” from the dome.

My review is 1 star because:
1- Deceptive trade practices and false advertising
2- Management/owner (Mr Limame) attempting to extort positive/high review for an already promised refund of two out of five nights due to admitted issues with the domes
3- severe operational dysfunction with the accommodation.

Here is my full feedback to Booking.com:

Hello!
Thanks so much for sending me this email. A lot has gone on during this reservation at the Desert Sands Dakhla Lagoon View stay. Please see attached confirmation of this booking to understand which booking it is.

The first problem when we arrived was obvious. The dome we were staying in had pictures on Booking.com of a beautiful front window that you could see through. When we arrived at the dome, the windows were completely fogged. You could not see out of them at all. This was a huge part of the value proposition for a dome. See pictures attached of the Booking.com pictures. And then what we saw is also attached. You cannot see out of the screen at all

The second thing was the door would not lock from the inside. They used a key system from both sides of the lock to open and lock the door from both sides. And it would not turn from the inside. The door would open up by itself from the strong winds. They did fix the door by replacing the lock at 9 PM on the second night after a couple of reminders.

The third thing was the faucet in the bathroom barely had any water coming out of it. They would not fix this.

The fourth thing was the listing says the dome is soundproof.

Quizá más variedad en las comidas, estaban todas muy buenas pero se hacía algo repetitivo.

Limam le patron, a des problèmes avec la Police et appelle la Gendarmerie Royale lorsque vous demandez une nuit supplémentaire.

Maltraitance animale de surcroit.

Lieu qui ne sera pas référencé très longtemps mais à fuir dans l'intervalle.

La principal decepción fue no poder disfrutar del alojamiento que habíamos reservado originalmente. Al tratarse de un bungalow con un precio inferior al de la cúpula, decidimos cancelar la reserva. Aun así, el anfitrión gestionó la situación de forma muy correcta, ofreciéndonos diferentes alternativas e incluso transporte gratuito hasta otro alojamiento. Finalmente no nos alojamos allí y regresamos al lugar donde nos estábamos hospedando.
