Golden Pearl Tangalle Beach

Mr. Sanjeewa Fernando, the General Manager of Golden Pearl Tangalle Beach Hotel, is exceptionally attentive and resourceful, and paired with the hotel’s serene beachfront setting, sparkling ocean-facing pool, spacious well-appointed rooms, and warm, professional staff, creates an idyllic atmosphere that ensures every guest feels welcome, relaxed, and genuinely cared for.

Loved this hotel, the rooms where great and had an ocean view. The staff was very nice and the food was good, i will come back again!

Wir hatten einen durchwachsenen Aufenthalt im Golden Pearl.
Ankunft war okay, Fruchtsaft aus der Packung typisches Zuckerwasser. Freundlichkeit die wir sonst so gewohnt sind war wenig vorhanden. Wir gingen auf Zimmer, Koffer wurden uns getragen - sehr nett! Wir gingen ins Zimmer welches schön aber dennoch stark abgewohnt war. Uns wurde das Bad gezeigt wo uns gleich eine Kakalake begrüßte. Der mitarbeiter traute sich selbst kaum ins Bad bis sein Kollege einen Besen nahm und die Schabe entfernte. Wir waren spät angereist, wollten noch was essen und konnten eh Nix mehr lösen. Das Bad hatte einen duschvorhang und Rollo welches voller schwarzen Schimmel war. Wir schliefen und gingen am Morgen zum Frühstück. Wir hatten gute Erwartungen weil es ein 4Sterne Hotel ist. Das Buffet war leer. Es sag Toast und Marmelade. Tee und Kaffee musste man sich selber zubereiten. Kaffee war nicht gekocht sondern wurde nur Pulver hingestellt. Weder Schalen noch Löffel lagen bereit. Wir erhielten ein paar Früchte und durften eine Eierspeise wählen die mit einer kalten Wurst serviert wurde. Das Sri-Lanka Omelette schmeckte aber sehr gut der Rest leider nicht.
Wir entschiedenen uns die Missstände an der Rezeption anzusprechen und hatten vor unseren Aufenthalt abzubrechen. Wir fragten nach dem Manager. Dieser sollte in 2 Tagen kommen also am Ende unseres Aufenthaltes. Die mitarbeiter boten uns an in ein Zimmer zur Seeseite umzuziehen. Wir stimmten zu. Das Zimmer war schöner aber leider genauso.

Great location , friendly staff

The room requires a deep clean. Dirty floor mats, water timescale marks all around the shower and window. Privacy blind had mould growing on it. Sink requires timescale and bleach as plug area smelt unpleasant.
Air conditioning required some overdue maintenance or replacement as it was so loud even with the terrace doors closed.
Very loud music could be easily heard in the room until 5am.
Breakfast area had a fly problem and need to be addressed urgently as unhygienic.

We travelled in a group of 5. Took 2 rooms. Fortunately, we only stayed one night. Rooms were not clean & bathroom floors were dirty too. I walked out of the bathroom with blackish stain on the floor. I asked for bedroom slippers but they don’t provide one.
Service is bad only because they don’t have enough staff. We had dinner by the poolside & a number of times I have to go in into the cafe to call the staff. The staff are friendly though.
Don’t be deceived by the website because it look so beautiful & nice but in reality it is just so so

Golden Pearl er et flott hotell til en fornuftig pris. Flott uteområde rett på stranden med mange solsenger. Betjeningen er imøtekommende, men det oppsto her som mange andre steder i Sri Lanka en del kommunikasjonsproblemer grunnet dårlig engelsk forståelse. Fantastisk meny på kjøkkenet, men vi visste knapt at de hadde en før avreise, så informasjonen til gjestene burde vært bedre.

The hotel rooms were nice the beach was in front of the hotel the pool was very clean there was a b it buffet the food was very tasty there was a tv in the room there were some slides near the entrance there was a big pond with so many fish there were lot of beautiful statues and drawings this hotel is very good

Stayed for four nights and had a fantastic time at the hotel.

Great experience when checking in and were warmly greeted by the general manager and other staff.

Lovely hotel on the beach front with lots of positives at the hotel. Large room with lovely shower and a nice balcony.

Great breakfasand reasonable prices on drinks 🍻 and other meals that were available during our stay.

Staff very friendly and many good restaurants within walking distance especially Top Secret restaurant.

Superb facilities such as pool table 🎱 table tennis 🏓 darts 🎯 and table football ⚽️. Lovely swimming pool that was clean.

Will definitely be back when in Tangalle in the future

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Golden Pearl, we hade a beachfront room with excellent views of the beach. The room spacious and clean, the service was excellent.
The beach was nice and great to swim in.
Lots of restaurants nearby, highly recommend.

We stayed at the hotel in November 2024 with my daughter. Quiet place, caring and attentive staff. Delicious food. Amazing pool, a few steps to the ocean. A magical vacation, thank you very much for making it so.
You can come to the reception with any questions: where to buy a raincoat, where is the hardware store, where to find a good tuk-tuk driver.

We the entire family was on a vacation in 4 rooms for two days.
It was a plesent and nice stay. Everyone enjoyed and was very haopy with the stay.
The hotel staff was very helpfull and not fussy at all.
The rooms are huge and the washrooms are upto the standard for 3*.

We had a wonderful stay at Golden Pearl hotel. The room was cozy and loved the food! It has a great pool to chill. The staff were so friendly and helpful too. Overall it was a pleasant and unforgettable experience. Would definitely come back! ❤️

Had a wonderful stay at Golden Pearl Thangalle. I visited with couple of friends in last December, we had an amazing time. Food was delicious and had a good spread. The beach was clean had nice views throughout the day. Most importantly the staff was friendly and helpful.

We were booked for 7 days at this hotel our initial thoughts it seemed pleasant enough some of the staff were friendly although not very informative and the hotel seemed nice in a great location with a beautiful view.
Unfortunately the general up keep of place was poor , slats around the pool broken and unsafe the windows of the whole hotel were smeared and needed a good clean including in our room ...the toilet and showers by pool were dirty with no lights and no toilet rolls.
There was plenty of sunbeds available no umbrellas at all so we had keep moving to find some shade ....the breakfast was basic but edible.
There was no bar open for drinks in day or evening. . The the rooms were spacious with big balconys but were not cleaned to a good standard grubby walls and smeared windows there was never toilet rolls or water left for us daily and only 1 coffee left in room daily.
The aircon was poor very noisy and not cool at all .

UNFORTUNATELY OUR STAY HAS BEEN CUT SHORT as on returning to our room yesterday evening to realise the cleaners had been in our suitcases ...this really upset me.
This is a invasion of our privacy and its UNACCEPTABLE.
I have travelled alot and never expected for staff to be in our belongings when we are out and they are supposed to be cleaning our room.

I must say the manager and 2 staff members were very helpful last night and have issued us a refund for the remaining days we should of stayed there.
I could not continue our holiday there feeling like people are looking through orthings.

We were planning a trip down south and then I found this hotel online. This was located next to Tangalle beach and it has a good cozy atmosphere. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff is very friendly and supportive. I enjoyed the time there and hope to revisit soon.

We went there during Christmas. Friendly staff, spacious rooms. Walking distance to Tangalle town and the location is quite ideal for a people who enjoy sea beaches.
The hotel was decorated very nicely. Band was playing to entertain guests. Really enjoyed the stay and worth for the money we spent.
