It is a good location for walking and seeing the city. I always felt safe
Hotel in need of facelift. Elevator was broken when we arrived. Staff were friendly and helped us with luggage to the 4th floor. Rooms are very compact and clean. Beds/mattress are good. Big screen tv, separate bath and bidet, table, luggage rack, chairs, small closet. Breakfast comes with the stay and probably the best part. Lots of pastries, fruit, cereal, coffee, juice available in the morning for 3-1/2 hours. Great location for seeing the city. Located centrally to Florida Street snd Obelisk.
The hotel location was amazing. Very close to May Plaza and Teatro Colon area. Also walked to the northern green area. The staff were really helpful and friendly. They helped us with reservations, walk plans, recommendations and were very friendly. The breakfast allowed us to taste some of the special treats of Argnetina. It was good, and the area was bright and clean. The price was inexpensive for what you get from the location and staff. It was balanced by the room itself. It does appear that they are upgrading the facility a little at a time.
We were surprised with the room itself. It was clean and safe but it does need an upgrade. On the other hand, it is the condition of the room that likely allows the rate to be as reasonable as it is given it's great location and staff. So it's a tradeoff. I would stay here again, as the trade off was worth it.
I have chosen this place due to location and low price. I expected more, even from 2stars hotel. I have got the standard room without window (!) and solid ventilation - what means you may have lack of oxygen. If you book rooms there make sure you have room equipped with window! Luckily I only came there for 8h sleep. It is old building, so I do not expect new and modern style, but old carpets need to be exchanged from time to time to remove dust. Internet was working from time, not very stable. For a plus, there is space with sofa and tables where you can sit and work if required. Breakfast very sweet, really continental one but quite tasty. Overall very average level.
The staff is incredibly helpful and they help book our gaucho trip, they gave us the best pricing compared to competition, the room was clean and the location just perfect!
To be done again without any doubt!
Great location for exploring the city centre and major metro stop only 5 mins away for getting up to Palermo/Recoleta districts and down to Boca. Staff v helpful, room good size and breakfast very good!
This is where I stay when I go to Buenos Aires, which is usually an annual visit. You can't beat the location, steps away from Avenida Cordoba in the Microcentro. The rooms are not fancy but comfortable and just what you need. The breakfast buffet is most generous and has just about anything one would want or need to get started in the morning. You also can't beat the price for what you get - easy access to public transportation, near the Florida and Lavalle pedestrian malls. Very close to the Teatro Colon and the Avenida 9 de Julio. I hope to return to Buenos Aires next year and will stay at the Goya.
This is my "go -to" hotel in Buenos Aires since 2005. I've stayed here on at least 4 separate occasions and will stay again when next in this exciting city. I just returned to NY 3 days ago and was delighted with my room and the service at Goya once again. The room was superb - an upscale room for 490 pesos per night...a steal. You can't beat the location as well as the price. It is withing east walking distance to most attractions and the subway. Just steps off Avenida Cordoba and 1 block from 9 de julio. There is an ample and generous breakfast buffet that should satisfy anyone. The personnel is most accomodating and helpful. The owner is very much present and on top of things . He is also most welcoming. I long to return to this great world class city of tango & the planet's best beef. When I do I'll be staying at the Goya!
relatively good location (i.e. very central) but we felt a bit unsafe late in the evening. Hotel is average, a bit on the "old, needs rennovation" side, we had a room with a "window" onto the hotel corridor. bathrooms OK.
breakfast rather sweets-oriented, just 1 type of ready-made sandwiches. Nice terrace for breakfast. friendly staff, but not too client-oriented.
Hotel rooms superior are very nice, clean and breakfast terrasse is perfect as well. Breakfast is ok, but it is very argentian. No eggs, no sausages. Staff seems to be not very motivated.
Great location, great value, great service for this boutique hotel down in the central part of buenos aires.
This hotel is in an excellent location. It's very central and you can walk to shopping, attractions, restaurants, etc. However, this also means it's noisey at night which I personally don't mind. We stayed in both a standard room and the "presidential suite". The standard room was below average - needed to be painted, very uncomfortable bed, tired furniture. The bede was in the shower leaving not that much room for a person to shower. The shower was not self-contained and therefore leaked in to the bedroom. For the 3rd and 4th night we ended up moving to the "presidential suite", which was substantially better. The bathroom was much more updatted and the room was a little nicer. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. There were computers to use, but they didn't work; however, there are many, many Internet cafes located close by so that wasn't a problem. Overall this hotel is not the greatest, but you really can not beat the location.
This hotel is ok but I am sure you could get nicer hotels for the money. The bathroom drains were very, very stinky each morning and not the nicest thing to wake up to. The buffet breakfast was mainly a selection of biscuits and cakes, not much actual proper breakfast food. The room was tired but it did get tidied and cleaned every day.
My husband and I booked this hotel at the very last minute, quite literally - from the city airport in BA! There were very few inexpensive options as we returned to BA at the height of Carnavale. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the hotel some 30 minutes after making the booking. The hotel is very centrally located, just a few blocks from Florida and Lavalle Streets and other touristy areas. Excellent security too. Our room was available immediately, and Carlos, who manned the reception when we arrived, was truly exceptional - gave us a map, showed us some places where we might want to go, and was ready to answer all our questions including where to see a tango show and even helped us translate a menu flyer we got from a restaurant! The hotel layout was admittedly a bit awkward with a requirement to take two different elevators to get to our room, but we weren't bothered. I think our rooms were "superior class" - truly excellent------very new, very modern, super swank bathroom. However, no mini bar or fridge to keep our drinks cool! Also, no wi-fi access from our room (though available on the 1st floor of the hotel). Also, the breakfast was not really our thing----lots of cakes and pastries when we were hoping for bacon and eggs! All that said, we enjoyed our experience at this hotel, although a little more expensive than we had hoped to pay.
We had 4 nights here in a superior room at the rear of the hotel so there was very little traffic noise. The room was spacious with wardrobe, bedside cabinets, lamps, TV, 2 chairs and a table. New tiled ensuite with bath and shower over, a plug! plus wash line. Security access, breakfast on the top floor with seating area outside. Internet on first floor, 2 machines but found them slow, small seating area close by. Staff spoke some English and were friendly enough. Good location close to shops and eating places.
We stayed at the Hotel Goya for 2 nights. The staff was OK but the breakfast all what you get is cake, a big selection but I like beacon and eggs not sticky cakes. The rooms are not very clean and very noisy. On our way back we stayed at a much better place.
Staff were friendly enough and helpfull but the room was a hole.
Booked a superior room for the last 2 nights of our holiday.
Carpet was stained and sticky with ciggerete burns as were the bed sheets. The walls were also long over due a coat of paint. The net curtains were black and blocked any light from the small window which looked like it haddn't been cleaned for some time, only a concrete wall to be seen through it any way. The room had air conditioning but all this seemed to do was make noise and circulate the bad smells in the room. The bathroom looked like it had been recently renovated and was OK.
Breakfast was a large buffet of mostly cakes and pastries, great if you have a sweet tooth but no alternative if you don't.
Seems to be pot luck with the rooms as the hotel website photos and those submitted by other reviewers look OK. There was some evidence of ongoing renovations.
If you can overlook the stains in the carpet and the smallness of the rooms, this hotel is an excellent bargain!
The standouts of this hotel are: very friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast, and great central location.
Staff is attentive and friendly. On multiple occasions we left our bags with them for the day before catching our evening bus ride or flight out of the city.
Breakfast here is a real treat given the wide assortment of traditional Argentine pastries!
This hotel is within walking distance of everything because it is right in the middle of the city...its close to the Subway, shopping and restaurants and all the key monuments and attractions Buenos Aires has to offer. It is also within 20 minutes walking of the main bus station which makes it easy for those traveling with backpacks.
