Smell was in the main bedroom very bad
Gave me headache could not sleep at all

Extremely hot. Large greenhouse effect, inadequate cooling for summer. One of the sinks didn’t work. Rickety old elevator that didn’t go down to the bottom floor

It was generally great. The elevator stopped working for a few hours one day so we had to climb up 7 flights of stairs a few times, but it was good exercise and was resolved quite quickly ;)

It got a bit cold in there & we asked for heater, but it took a day or more to arrive. There were candle holders & candles but the battery operated candles didn’t have battery & there no matches available…. So couldn’t light any candles…. Would created a good ambience.

1. Check-in instructions are unclear- Make sure to contact them two days before check-in and arrange a meeting time. They will hand over the key and to you in person.
We wrote day be for check-in didn't get reply until the afternoon on the day of check-in and had to wait 40 minutes in the cold with our kids.
2. The house is nice but poorly maintained- The hardware is good and basic cleanliness of the house were okay, but the glass was dirty and the hot water kettle had a bad smell.
3.Not enough hot water for shower- There's not enough hot water for 6 people to take a shower. Hurry up! Otherwise you won't be able to take a cold shower.

The apartment was kinda messy so on the hygenic side it was not all that top.

Everything was perfect. It was super clean, with all the amenities.

The rental was a very clever design , but the AC unit does not cool down the apartment. There was no fix from staff only to provide a secondary fan. The apartment was unbearable to stay during our stay because of this. Also the apartment was not prepared for our arrival , it took 4 hours just to get towels. It took a couple of hours just to figure out who to call to actually let us in the rental. No information was provided about accessing rental only out of sheer luck did we finally get in. This seems to be a trend as we seen other folks suffering the same issue after a couple of days. There is more to complain about , but frankly I would not recommend this location period.

Stayed in June with the solar gain from windows with no blinds was literally 100 degrees F on the second floor (where 2 of the 3 beds are located). We had the tiny underpowered AC going full but barely helped. Opened all windows and barely helped. I want to stress that this wasn't just uncomfortable heat this was heat stroke dangerous levels. I was scared for our kids. All woke up with bug bites that we are hoping are from mosquitos. And I can confirm the lack of TP mentioned in the other reviews - very strange - 6 squares left between the 2.5 baths for a 5 night stay.

Also I paid in full before arrival. But when showed up with kids and bags we couldn't get it. The host ghosted me for well over an hour (sitting on the busy sidewalk outside as tons of people walked past us and our luggage) until booking.com finally reached him. At that point he demanded an additional $550 to get in. I wanted to leave but we had just taken long train and cab ride with bags and kids to get there - plus had no other place to stay. I reluctantly paid it - felt like extortion.

A final note about Booking.com. After many failed attempts to reach the owner we switched to a hotel and told booking.com that we left. As of now Booking.com has refused to refund our money. Booking says it is at the owner's discretion if he wants to refund us. I've been a booking.com customer for over 10 years and probably 100 reservations - but clearly means nothing (thanks booking). BTW - we used booking to book a nearby hotel.

Only issue was barely any toilet paper left for guests

I stayed here from September 8th to September 11th. This serves as a stark warning to potential guests considering this property.Upon arrival on September 8th, our expectations were shattered. The air conditioning was non-functional during one of Brussels' hottest periods, violating safety standards and making the stay unbearable. Daytime temperatures exceeded 40 degrees Celsius, creating sauna-like conditions.
Compounding the issues, the downstairs bathroom was not fit for use, denying us a basic bath. Promised relief in the form of fans never materialized, and the property managers showed no remorse for our suffering.
The third "bedroom" was a cruel joke, with a bed under a skylight creating a greenhouse effect. This misleading advertising resulted in additional costs as a member of our party just left.Further frustration ensued when the property manager attempted direct payment, despite our prior payment through PayPal via Booking.com. This unethical practice questions the integrity of the property management.
We requested proof of window damage they claimed occurred, yet three months later, no evidence has been provided. This delay appears to be an attempt to avoid applying a promised discount, emphasizing a lack of transparency and honesty.The admission that the air conditioning had been non-operational for days and the failure to promptly address the issue showcase a complete lack of professionalism. Promises to rectify the situation were empty gestures, leaving us to suffer in substandard conditions.
Even the offered waiver of the first day's rental cost, contingent on fixing the air conditioning, proved to be an empty gesture. Our discomfort persisted, and attempts to negotiate a fair resolution were met with silence, highlighting the property's indifference to guest satisfaction.
