Hotel SantaFe Monteverde

We enjoyed our stay, any information written here is for other travelers information, not a critique. I would certainly stay there again.
Owners are lovely. Room was clean, beds comfortable, shower had nice hot water. Breakfast was tasty, two choices of either eggs or pancakes with accompanying toast/fruit/coffee.
They are upgrading and have some fairly major construction going on. The noise was during reasonable hours ~8am until sometime before we got back from our day (6ish).
There is limited parking but we managed ok. The area seemed safe to us (single woman and child). You can walk to some sodas and restaurants and there is a minimart very close. You can walk downtown but its a very steep hill coming back. Its close to major attractions, all within 10min or so.
My onky co.plaint was a yappy dog sometime in the early morning, it could be a neighbors dog though which obviouslythe owners have no control over.
As said before, i wouldnt hesitate to return or reccomend.

A safe would be nice. A small make up mirror in the room. A luggage rack or table or closet to get the suitcases off the floor. Overall, a good value for the money the owners were exceptionally nice and very helpful.

The owners where very nice to meet and very!!! helpful planning our time in Monte Verde. We emailed back and forth before out trip to ask question of what to do. Essa had it down to the times of what to do and where to go. Extremely helpful!! We just wished it had air conditioning.

We stayed here as a family of 4 in March with two teenage boys, in the family room. It had a frosted glass door entrance, and then beyond that was two bedrooms and a shared bathroom. One bedroom had two twin beds and a TV, the other had a queen bed and no TV. Bathroom had a standup shower. Water was plenty hot but the pressure is very low. Heads up you cannot put toilet paper in the toilet here, has to go in the garbage can.
Breakfast was in the dining area down the hall. You have two options of either pancakes fruit or eggs and toast fruit. Both breakfast options were delicious. Also included coffee/tea and juice.
Family run hotel and the owners were lovely. Very friendly and helpful when we had questions.
The hotel was a but noisy at night from our room because we had an exterior wall and the dirtbikes are quite loud. My boys in the other room heard nothing all night.
Location is convenient, we were able to walk into downtown Santa Elena in about 10-15 minutes. Keep in mind it all hills, downhill to town and uphill back. Grocery store and mini market close by as well as some restaurants.
Overall excellent value for the money, and nice to be in a very small, family-run hotel. Also enjoyed the hotel cat, Lulu :)

Isa was fabulous and so helpful. Breakfast was good and the fan in the room kept us cool enough.

A great hotel. The hosts of the hotel were friendly & vey helpful with any questions or booking of any tours.
The homemade pancakes they serve for breakfast were delicious.
I would definitely recommend staying here.

The hotel is just off one of the main roads, not far out of town center. It is not new, but it is clean, quiet and felt safe. We enjoyed two rooms with a small foyer area and a shared bathroom in the center. We also used the public space outside of our room. We sat in the hallway (pictured in the photos) and looked out at the (for us) exotic birds visiting outside. Breakfast was included, provided at the neighboring cafe, with a choice of either eggs and toast with fruit or pancakes with fruit. The cafe had a wonderful view over the valley.

The lady at reception (perhaps the owner?) could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much. The breakfast across the road (very short walk) at cafe cappuccino was decent and the place had an incredible view (especially at sunset).

It’s a short walk down to the main town to reach all the shops & restaurants but it’s quite a walk back up! There are a lot of very steep hills.

The room itself was ok, good sized bed & ensuite. It was just very dark, only a small window in the bathroom and the large bedroom window looked out into the hallway where people could see directly into my room so I had to close the curtains most of the time.

It was also very noisy, you can hear others in their rooms and especially when in the hallway, it’s like they’re in your room.

Overall a good stay.

It was delightful for a couple nights in monteverde. It was more of a b and b than hotel. More basic but nice. The people were helpful and very open. Cafe capuchino next door was an added bonus.

Christian and isaura were excellent hosts. Very friendly and helpful.

The property owners are great host. Parking could be a challenge but manageable. Conveniently located and the host advised on local cuusines and other points of interest such as the sunset spot.

The hotel is run by a very lovely, friendly couple who will make you feel welcomed. They also give great suggestions about local restaurants and things to do in Monteverde.

Isaura and her partner were the perfect hosts. They took us in on short notice when other accommodations were not good. Their place is absolutely spotless. They recommended places to see and eat. Breakfast was tasty and filling. Highly recommend staying there for your Monteverde experience.

This is a small, family-owned hotel, more like a B&B. Isaura and her husband were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was provided and was enjoyable. The property is super cute. Isaura provided laundry service for a small fee and helped us find activities.

The room was quite small. We were booked for 5, which would have been impossible, but my husband couldn't join us. Even with 4 it was a tight fit. But now that I look again at the reservation, I see we should have had the enjoining room with queen bed and I'm disappointed we didn't use it while there.

All in all, a pleasant stay!

This was a lovely place. The staff was excellent and very helpful. They provided laundry service and excellent breakfast. Very friendly and accommodating.

The parking spot limited. The room was noisy. Cable and internet did not work during night. Tv not functioning.
