Just one lift and it takes time

My room had two guests, but only one breakfast was included. The first time I stayed at this hotel, two breakfasts were included in my stay. I mentioned this to the receptionist, but they did not honor my request. Aside from this, I enjoyed my stay.

The floor in the room was dirty exposed wires, water on the floor in the bathroom, no handtowels, they came and sorted it straight away but do not have handtowels. One lift only and as I was on the 4th floor stairs was not accessible it you wanted to use it (health & safety hazard). Breakfast was good but cutlery and glassware I always had to request for as not on the table or by the drinks stand. Staff seem to favour the male guest in the restaurant and gave them particular attention in the restaurant.

I think the natural wear and tear in the rooms, especially the bathroom should be updated. The bathroom fittings handles, knobs will need a replacing soon.

1. The description of their rooms is different from the description posted on booking.com. Their rooms names and features were similar in advertisements but different when you book it. For example I thought was buying a second to top level room only to find out that it was a basic room. I bought Queen studio only to find out that is there basic room if compared with other Nigerian hotels.

2. Although the hotel accepts foreign cards but their exchange rates was lower than LemFi/Taptap Money Transactions app and my bank also charged me for using foreign card. If known I would have sent money to family and friends to help me pay in Naira as I had to pay extra N180,000 due to lower rates and bank charges.

3. It would be better If the staff could be trained to offer first aid as I had a cut on my foot during my stay (not caused by the hotel) and I was bleeding profusely but I couldn’t get adequate help luckily I was able to eventually found my own first aid kit that helped me stopped the bleeding.

Lastly, I was on 5th floor and the noise from bar at the sixth floor disturbed my sleeps through out the weekends of my stay.

The bedsheet was dirty and when we asked it to be changed they sent us a horrible bedsheet which we had to refuse. Then they had to wash and dry bedsheet - we even got them wet!

The towels were untouchable so dirty.

This hotel is ridiculously overpriced for what it offers and a total ripoff!
You are essentially just paying for location as the interior specifically the rooms are dilapidated and leaves much to be desired. The bedsheets and pillows have old stains, there are gaps between the mattress and headboard that is full of dust and just gross. The walls and cabinets (even the Tv) are heavily stained with visible marks and have seen better days. The kitchen gadgets provided were awful and need to be replaced, and the disgusting kitchen sponge which other reviewers had mentioned several times was never addressed. New sponges need to be put in rooms after each guests for hygiene purposes (common sense). I mentioned it in person to one of the concierges (CHINEDU) immediately after check in during the day, but it was not dealt with. I had to call again from the room later that night to request one.

The bathroom was disgusting and made my skin crawl. The taps were barely attached to the frame and were rusty, the toilet seat had numerous old stains, toilet paper was very cheap quality not fit for purpose! The shower cubicle is poorly built with uneven surfaces where your toiletries just fell off whichever way you sit them, the nooks and corners were unsightly and the water had a rather funky smell I had to brush my teeth with bottled water!
I find it utterly baffling that a hotel charging such exorbitant price would be this awful.
They promise cable channels in their profile on booking.com, but their idea of cable channels is insulting with a mere 16 channels, four of which were European football and the rest just utter nonsense with terrible signal and NO premium CNN (just a compressed CNN International). Towards the end of my stay, the only channel that showed foreign dramas was completely off air. One would think with the high price this hotel charges that they can afford to offer premium services.
The gym is an absolute joke, and shouldn’t be called such.

Delay in getting food ready at the terrace
