The welcome from the owner was very friendly. The location is right next to the A43 which is handy to get to Silverstone racing circuit.
This hotel is probably ok for some lads visiting the British Grand Prix and only using it to crash. It is not a place to take your wife or girlfriend. It is literally next to a very busy dual carriageway. The owners have installed very effective triple glazing to keep out the noise but the downside for a 20 degree night in summer is that the rooms are unbearable hot. They provided a small fan which helped a little but we didn't get much sleep. The room is clean but tired. The beds are very soft. We left each morning at 6 am so didn't try the breakfast and were too tired to eat at night so can't comment about the food.
The owners were really friendly & did everything to make you feel welcome.
Food was excellent.
The location was good for the purpose of our visit. However, the hotel was advertised as having an on-site restaurant and bar, but both were closed during our stay, apparently because the staff were on holiday. Having these facilities available was important to us, so this was very disappointing. If we had known about the closures in advance, we would not have booked this hotel.
The staff were very nice and friendly. However, this hotel should not be advertised as offering breakfast or dinner, as these services were not available during our stay. The hotel is also located very close to the motorway, which made it a bit noisy at night.
Nothing
Hotel was dated compared to the photos shown on site. Lots of builders materials out front. Restaurant was closed due to staff going on holiday - I booked this as it stated there was an onsite restaurant. Room was very small for 3 people. Bathroom so small you couldn't move without bumping into the shower.
No breakfast because the staff had been sent home due to lack of guests.
The hot water wasn't hot enough in the shower.
El desayuno incluido en el precio. El personal muy amable.
El ruido de la autopista que pasa por al lado.
Nothing
Was like a second rate motel.
It was rated 8.1. This was seriously exaggerated.
It was very over priced.
The next night I stayed at The Prince Rupert, Shrewsbury, rated at 8.2, correctly so.
There is a vast gulf in quality between the two establishments. Booking.com got the rating of The Evergreen very misleadingly wrong.
When we arrived we were greeted with a very warm welcome! Jessica and Sam, couldn’t do enough for us.
The room was very clean and comfortable!
Dinner and breakfast was delicious and all organically grown on their property! Nothing is too much trouble. They go above and beyond!
I would highly recommend!
Easygoing and handily located
You know, when you are away and travelling there are some basics that are needed - a hearty friendly welcome with the offer of a cold beer; a comfortable clean bed, and a hot powerful shower. The hosts have provided all that, with, some interesting chinese charm and decor.! I will return.
Sorry but the spring rolls were lidl, and not hand made at home with fresh ingredients.. :(
The breakfast and evening meal were absolutely delicious, we cannot recommend highly enough. The staff were wonderful, accommodating and friendly. It had a lovely family atmosphere and everything was done with the utmost care, kindness and attention, you can tell that a great deal of love has been put into this. We were even given a bag of very tasty homegrown fruit as a gift.
There is some road noise outside of the property but this wasn’t noticeable once inside of the property.
The hosts were exceptional. Lovely warm welcome and we felt like family. We shall recommend and we shall return, as and when we are visiting friends in the locality. D and D
Easy access very homely
Nothing
Stayed one night to go to F1 at Silverstone. The staff gave us a very warm welcome and let us book a taxi to/from Banbury Train Station (£6 there are back) so we could then take a bus to Silverstone. The hotel was nicely decorated and was very spacious. It is next to a country lane/A road so you can hear traffic, but it's not loud enough to be a nuisance.
The room was a decent size, two twin beds, a small bathroom, a small table, chair and wardrobe. There was a bag of shower gel/shampoo on the beds which was a very nice touch and slippers were also provided.
The bathroom was very small, we basically had to step over the toilet to get to the sink and the toilet was very close to the shower as well.
Breakfast was good, a nice selection of food with fruits and yoghurt on the side if you wanted it.
Overall I would recommend it for anyone going to the F1 or having a long weekend in Banbury.
