Nothing
Was like a second rate motel.
It was rated 8.1. This was seriously exaggerated.
It was very over priced.
The next night I stayed at The Prince Rupert, Shrewsbury, rated at 8.2, correctly so.
There is a vast gulf in quality between the two establishments. Booking.com got the rating of The Evergreen very misleadingly wrong.
When we arrived we were greeted with a very warm welcome! Jessica and Sam, couldn’t do enough for us.
The room was very clean and comfortable!
Dinner and breakfast was delicious and all organically grown on their property! Nothing is too much trouble. They go above and beyond!
I would highly recommend!
Easygoing and handily located
You know, when you are away and travelling there are some basics that are needed - a hearty friendly welcome with the offer of a cold beer; a comfortable clean bed, and a hot powerful shower. The hosts have provided all that, with, some interesting chinese charm and decor.! I will return.
Sorry but the spring rolls were lidl, and not hand made at home with fresh ingredients.. :(
The breakfast and evening meal were absolutely delicious, we cannot recommend highly enough. The staff were wonderful, accommodating and friendly. It had a lovely family atmosphere and everything was done with the utmost care, kindness and attention, you can tell that a great deal of love has been put into this. We were even given a bag of very tasty homegrown fruit as a gift.
There is some road noise outside of the property but this wasn’t noticeable once inside of the property.
The hosts were exceptional. Lovely warm welcome and we felt like family. We shall recommend and we shall return, as and when we are visiting friends in the locality. D and D
Easy access very homely
Nothing
Stayed one night to go to F1 at Silverstone. The staff gave us a very warm welcome and let us book a taxi to/from Banbury Train Station (£6 there are back) so we could then take a bus to Silverstone. The hotel was nicely decorated and was very spacious. It is next to a country lane/A road so you can hear traffic, but it's not loud enough to be a nuisance.
The room was a decent size, two twin beds, a small bathroom, a small table, chair and wardrobe. There was a bag of shower gel/shampoo on the beds which was a very nice touch and slippers were also provided.
The bathroom was very small, we basically had to step over the toilet to get to the sink and the toilet was very close to the shower as well.
Breakfast was good, a nice selection of food with fruits and yoghurt on the side if you wanted it.
Overall I would recommend it for anyone going to the F1 or having a long weekend in Banbury.
Food was good and hosts very nice and eager to please
Decor very strange, beds uncomfortable and small. Cleanliness not good as had massive ball of cut hair on top of bathroom light above mirror.
The property was conveniently located with the M40 close by
It was clean, and the staff were very attentive to our needs
Plenty of good parking
The breakfast was very minimal, larger portions would have been appreciated
The scrambled eggs were actually presented as an omelet, with instructions ‘you chop it up to make scrambled eggs’, which was not good.
There were no bowls, spoons or milk out for use to eat cereals
The evening meals looked expensive
Breakfast was poor, freezing cold room and very small portions
Place looked derelict and in need of some tlc, room was clean and bed comfy
Nothing about the property - staff were friendly - room was clean but freezing when I arrived - the rest of the building was very cold - had to ask for a heater in breakfast room
It was away from any amenities-extremely cold - so cold that one of the staff was wearing faux fur lined jacket to serve breakfast etc - room not cleaned / tidied after first night stay - not sure what warranted the cost of the room
The shower was good and the bed comfortable. The young girl who served breakfast was very polite.
It was freezing, the whole place. A lot of hard surfaces - tiles, concrete so very cold. The whole place needs a total renovation- got to be seen to believed. I don’t know how the overall booking.com was so high - something definitely fishy. It’s cheap so if that’s what you want - go for it. One night only.
