Classy hotel, really good location, comfortable and compact but containing everything you need.
Pros:

Very stylish hotel, colourful and comfortable. Good facilities in room, complimentary coffees, water etc. Very efficient and helpful staff. I liked the location, beside the canal and a relatively short walk from downtown.

Cons:

Some groundworks being done while visiting which made access difficult.

Pros:

NYX Dublin Portobello is a really great hotel with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We were particularly impressed that the receptionist remembered our names the following day as we walked by — a lovely personal touch that made the stay feel special.

The bedrooms are slightly on the smaller side, though each one is individually decorated and stylish. The air conditioning could have chilled the room a little more, as it never quite reached a properly cool temperature set at 18 degrees. There is also some room for improvement with housekeeping; I found a nearly empty bottle of wine left lying in the wardrobe, which was reported to the cleaner the following day.

Breakfast was fairly standard and typical of a basic hotel offering. On the first morning the milk had turned, but this was handled quickly and professionally by the waiting staff. On the second morning, the bacon appeared to have been cooked in its packaging, as there was still a white barcode label attached — this was also dealt with promptly when we mentioned it.

Having stayed in Leonardo hotels across Europe, I know the brand can be excellent, and with a few small improvements this hotel could easily match that high standard and become truly outstanding.

Comfortable and enjoyable
Pros:

The receptionist was very good. Warm and friendly and helpful welcome. We were made "guests of honour" with some excellent upgrades. Thank you for that. The room and bathroom were excellent and we liked the coffee maker. The room overlooked the canal.

Cons:

(March 11th, 2026) There was some construction works going on in an adjacent building - not the NYX hotel. This makes access to the hotel a little more difficult

Pros:

I liked it was all unique and funky and the neon signs are just cool, food was delicious and the signature cocktails were sooo nice

The house keeping staff were really nice and helpful and got us anything we asked

Cons:

I didn’t like that there was no parking as my boyfriend does drive and it was very expensive to park in Stephen’s Green Car Park and then the man on the desk says about parking on the road and I wasn’t comfortable leaving the car, also I seen some cars got clamped

I also think the complementary water should be in the fridge and I did also put in the comments when I was booking it, it was an anniversary and not one person said anything or offered us anything for it or to celebrate it
