The room, shower, and bed were comfortable. Staff was great. Ubers were very affordable. Breakfasts were good.
Location was OK. Dinner meals in their restaurant could use some elevation.

Everyone was very nice. We asked if we could get a sandwich for 5am when we had to leave to catch our flight to galapagos and they did it for free. They also offered to store our luggage (we overpacked since we are on a longer trip) until we come back from galapagos. They also run a resturant next to the hotel and the food was great. Breakfast was tasty as well and we'll come back here in a month on our way back!
The breakfast was great, otherwise we had a very bad experience.
First of all there isn’t a 24-hour reception, that is a lie.
We arrived in the evening and it took a while for the owner to let us in from the street. She seemed quite off and didn’t even give us the keycard you need to access the building from the street, we only knew to ask for it since we had stayed at the other Chakana before. We were very hungry and didn’t have any water, we were told that there was a large party at restaurant and it would be an hour before we could go to there to get food. The owner offered to bring some water to our room, we waited for over half an hour for this but didn’t get any. We went back downstairs to look for the owner but she was nowhere to be found, at last she appeared and we were able to have some water and were allowed to go to eat. The restaurant was full so we had sit on some couches, not a problem, but there were also two dogs that were begging for our food and the staff and the owner did very little to get them away from us.
The next morning when we went downstairs for breakfast the dogs were there again and one was barking at us quite aggressively and no staff to be seen, luckily the dog calmed down. We noticed that apparently we were the only guests at the hotel.
Since there are no safety deposit boxes in the rooms, we had to leave our valuables at the reception when we left to explore Quito, we had done this without issues at the other Chakana. There was no one at the reception but we managed to talk to a cleaning lady who went to get the breakfast guy who took our valuables to put in a safety depost box.
When we got back to the hotel in the afternoon, there was no one there. No one. They had our room key and our valuables (including our passports). We tried to call their WhatsApp-number which was also supposed to be 24/7 like the reception. No answer. We send messages. No answer.

Great location. Great value for the price. The host is exceptionally kind. We loved our stay, the food was excellent. Anytime in Quito from now on, we know where to stay!

Great location and an exceptionally friendly staff. Ivonne Cubides, the host, went above and beyond to accommodate us with our rooms and check-in/ check out process. She is absolutely fantastic and a joy to interact with. I will be staying again when I am back in Quito!
Amazing stay. Ivonne is just the perfect host and so helpful and informative. Superb location close to shopping malls, restaurants and bars. Walked the whole area day and night and is completely safe. Short taxi ride to old town where again is completely safe. Just apply common sense. Walked around there day and night and dined and had drinks. Many wonderful trips available within fairly short ride of Quito and would recommend. My room was enormous and the breakfast was delicious with fruits, cereal and eggs your way. I dined in the hotel restaurant my first evening and it was heavenly.
It was an amazing stay and I would highly recommend. It will be my go to place when I return. A very homely, caring feel which you rarely get at big hotels and chains.
Nothing at all. Possibly tea/coffee in the room but there is complimentary all day at reception restaurant which is approx 10 feet away !😄

The bfast was best of my travels in chile, peru. each day was a different experience The staff (owners, Yvonne y Rodriguez) were ultra helpful and friendly as all the kitchen staff. Nothing was too much and always with a smile. I dont do reviews but decided this hotel was worth promoting.

Leuk hotel met een mooie inrichting. Zeer lieve gastvrouw die heel behulpzaam is en veel informatie kan verstrekken. Ze hielp me ook met een taxi naar de luchthaven.
De jacuzzi op de kamer is zeker een meerwaarde en het aangrenzende restaurant is fantastisch. Wat een lekkere smaken!
