Professional property host/manager
The accommodation is very central, easy to reach on foot with luggage from the ferry. Stone Town and the beach promenade are also a short walk away, and there are numerous restaurants and stores in the area.
However, the accommodation is too expensive for the service. The rooms are small, there is no wardrobe, the infrastructure is in poor condition, the washbasin and toilet in the bathroom are falling apart. The water was only sporadically warm. The bed linen was not clean. The internet did not work properly and there was no toilet paper. There was no variety at breakfast.
Thanks to a young lady who took her service very seriously and was friendly and respectful. The manager seemed uninterested and unfriendly.
Upon check-in, there wasn't a welcoming attitude; we had to guide the receptionist through the check-in procedure since she did not seem to know what questions to ask. She did not cross-check anything and didn't even know whether we had paid for the booking.
We then were sat before the receptionist left without telling us where or what was happening. After a few minutes, she returned to take us to a room where the toilet wasn't working, not hot water and a pair of slippers in the room.
The building looked unkept, dirty and old; we left rightaway to look for another hotel, as we returned to check out after an hour the receptionist laughed when then kept us 20 minutes to take tax payment from us despite the PDQ machine not working due to connection whilst making inappropriate comments.
We asked for the GM's name and email address to which she responded with, "I don't have that information" After asking a few times, she gave us a fake email address.
Avoid this property as is the worst you could stay in Stone Town, lack of service and unprofessional staff. We even found her with a male at reception both with their feet up chatting as if they were at home.
