A special shoutout to Enes, who made our afternoons and evenings unforgettable. His drinks were fantastic—whether he was mixing something familiar or introducing us to local creations, every cocktail was truly mind-blowing. His service was warm, attentive, and absolutely exceptional.
We visited in November, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The changing leaves made the entire resort look like something out of a postcard. Our room was beautiful, comfortable, and the ideal place to unwind after a day of relaxing and exploring.
We left feeling refreshed, cared for, and already talking about when we can come back. This resort is a gem—highly, highly recommend.
Don't be fooled by positive reviews: this hotel is the biggest prank in Tuscany. Isolated location, access by dirt road and nothing that justifies the 5-star title - with good will, does not deliver 3.
I booked and paid for a super luxury suite with a view and king bed: no minibar, no air control, no wardrobe (only a clothesline with hangers), no bathtub, no coffee maker and a 27" monitor. Cheap trousseau, coarse red towels and Americanized decoration, cold and without identity - the result of an investor who transformed a millennial village into a soulless business.
At check-in, I received an improvised room and combined with two more, all sharing the same living room. Only after firm refusal were we transferred to another, with two single beds joined to simulate a king.
Now, amazed: the hotel is 750 m above sea level, with constant cold - and the use of the only heated pool costs 90 euros per person per time. Either you pay, or you don't enter.
I have already stayed in Castello di Casole, Banfi, San Felice, Santo Pietro, Villa San Sanino and Castiglion del Bosco - all impeccable, authentic and with a Tuscan soul. Monteverdi doesn't come close.
Conclusion: a monumental bluff disguised as a boutique hotel. Cold, without surrender and without soul. A waste of time, money and patience.
Everything about the property is fantastic. The rooms, the place, the beauty of every detail. But the service is truly
amazing. Mireya and Valentina helped us a lot, they went the extra mile to made us feel well special. The breakfast is really good and the restaurante Oreade should received at least one Michelin star. I would love to come back and I recommend this hotel to everyone looking for a unique experience in Tuscany
Nothing
Staff made the stay so welcoming. Can’t wait to go back one day.
Monteverdi was created from a once abandoned hill village in Tuscany. Everything about it is exceptional from the rooms, to the food, to the service, to the hospitality. The views over the stunning Val d’Orcia are incomparable. There are so many hidden lanes and secluded places to sit and relax. They can arrange excursions like the mind blowing visit to a neighboring Pecorino farm (see my just posted review of Caseificio Piu). Also worth noting is their world class (and for the quality reasonably priced) wine list. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Our stay at Monteverdi was simply beyond expectations! This place is a true gem, where every detail is thoughtfully crafted. The atmosphere is pure magic, blending Tuscan landscapes, elegant design, and genuinely warm hospitality into one unforgettable experience.
We have to highlight their wonderful chef, Chef Giancarla Bodoni, who offered an incredible cooking class that left a huge impression on us. It was not only fascinating and delicious, but also a hit with our kids, who absolutely loved the experience.
We left feeling completely enchanted and we know we’ll be coming back. Monteverdi is a little slice of paradise that everyone should visit at least once!
Monteverdi is a gorgeous place to spend time in Tuscany. The hotel is a renovated hilltop castle/village. The rooms are a great mix of modern convenience (including wi-fi) and Tuscan architecture (wooden beams and plaster walls) and the property has amazing views of the surrounding hills and valley. Everyone on the staff goes above and beyond to ensure a relaxing and memorable stay. I had a private tour of the Tenuta di Trenorio vineyard, a cooking class and an amazing private dinner with chef Giancarla, and Massimo was generous with his time to help ensure that I had a perfect Tuscan experience. I highly recommend Monteverdi and would return there any time!
Wow. Unreal stay. Truly one of the most beautiful and unique hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The property, rooms, spa, food and service were all super luxurious and truly 5 star quality. Their restaurant Zita was incredible and we were more than happy to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner there. The food was so fresh! Their other restaurant, Oreade, was genuinely the best dinner I’ve ever had in my life. We’ve been to quite a few Michelin star, fine dining restaurants and this one was seriously better than all of them. The views are incredible and the spa was also the most luxurious spa experience we’ve ever had. They have a large heated pool, saunas, cold plunges and massage services. Highly recommend getting the duetto if you’re going as a couple, you get a private bath with a beautiful view after your massage! The cherry on top was the staff. At the reception, restaurants, everyone was so kind and helpful. We can’t wait to come back one day, thank you Monteverdi for giving us such a special stay! <3
Only two notes. Our AC in our room wasn’t cold enough and we woke up very hot in the night a few times. Also the pool area would be even more amazing with loungers right next to it instead of across the path and a bit of food/ drink service there.
The environment was truly mesmerizing and infused with an incredibly uplifting energy. It created a serene and magical atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to providing an outstanding experience
Just breathtakingly beautiful
We love the views and the staff were very helpful
There was limited selection of food and other restaurants were very far away
