Really good service provided. Rooms were good and clean. Staff was very helpful. Airport pickup service provided
Needed to spend a weekend (2 nights) in Accra and Midindi Hotel was one of the recommended hotels. With hindsight, I suspect it made the recommendation because of its more reasonable rates compared to the more established Accra hotels.
A number of pros - lovely and quiet location - close to diplomatic area.
Great enjoyable breakfast with a bonus coconut drink direct from the fruit itself! Sparkling swimming pool was a bonus amenity.
Always like to give a 4-Star review as a minimum for hospitality effort but unfortunately can't in this case because of the following:
a. The check-in process was a bit cumbersome as the check-in staff couldn't find my reservation, notwithstanding that it was prepaid
b. The hotel fittings, furniture and fixtures are worn/dated
c. Bed and linen wasn't comfortable
d. Missing toilet paper on arrival
As often in Africa, staff were warm, friendly and made every effort to be welcoming. Many thanks to them!
Good sized rooms and we enjoyed the food at Midindi. However, there seemed to be an issue with management as small issues took ages to be resolved. For example, a request for an iron box was addressed after 2 days - and after repeated follow-ups. Also if a group booking confirm if the rooms are actually available. We found out that some members of our group had been taken to other hotels and the issue is the organisers had not been notified of this. This made convenings tricky.
I had to stay one night in this hotel. The experience was simply terrible despite the friendliness of the staff.
From the internet that was unreliable and would not let you connect multiple devices to the breakfast none of the basic services were provided right.
I walked to the breakfast area, it was empty the waiter was half asleep on the counter not wearing a mask. There is no buffet, no proper coffee even though they have one of these fancy coffee machine, they would only serve you instant coffee. After I refused the coffee the waiter disappeared for almost 20 minutes without offering anything else to drink not even a glass of water. He came back later with a ready standard plate that I did not order and that was not what I wanted for my breakfast. It was greasy and salty.
I will not go back nor recommend this place.
While I actually have not stayed there because I had to cancel my reservation, I just wanted to say how courteous, helpful and kind the front desk was there. I contacted them by email several times and they have been extremely helpful.
I am making this review but I know there is a refurbishment goi g on, the room we stayed in was in dire need of a refurb and this place is not cheap to stay in, anyway on a positive note the restaurant staff especially Ben were more than attentive and we got excellent service.
First off everyone overseas takes pride in customer service, this has been my experience every time I travel. At Midini Hotel they are extremely accommodating. They are friendly, helpful, and go above and beyond even when it isn't always needed. The restaurant staff Mina, Francesca & Bern were always smiling & never far away. The food was great, the hotel was clean & the people are trustworthy. Mina assisted us in finding hairdressers, seamstresses and even had a nice cab driver on standby for us. This was sooo helpful when our phones were going wonky and we couldn't order an uber like normal. She is sent from heaven! Midini will always be my first stop when visiting Ghana. It's 10 minutes from the airport! Perfect for a bunch of angry travelers who've been cooped up in the air for over 16 hours and need to instantly de-everything! LOL Yes, yes & yes I definitely recommend & can't wait to revisit. :-)
It just fell short on many simple things. They ran out of butter at breakfast. They ran out of pepper and didn't get any for the entire time I was there. Eggs with salt but no pepper. They forgot to put a hand towel in my room. The bath towel was torn. The beers were warm. They didn't serve cereal one morning at breakfast. The list could go on. Like I said, a lot of simple things just weren't done. If they paid attention to these details would have been a much better experience and probably a much better reviewed hotel.
what can I say? in the very beginning they asked my flight number and promised to meet at the airport, but in fact nobody came. so I was attacked by local taxi drivers and paid much more than how it should be. why so?
secondly, see a photo of pillow in my room, attached. it is very dirty.
did not make other photos of room, but trust me, very average and even poor decoration.
thirdly, I did not like breakfasts, could be better for this price.
average for all impressions regarding this hotel.
nice swimming pool, maybe also good location that is all
The staff at the Damfo restaurant weren't friendly thought it was something I had done but realized they were much attentive to the whites that came. Also their breakfast isn't what they have on their website. All they had was cereal, jollof and kaklo, eggs and some burnt sausages. No other protein whatsoever. The first room I was given had the airconditioning leaking and a faulty TV next room had the bathroom leaking. SMH!!! The rooms was clean that's the only good thing about this place.
This hotel is in very quiet location but only few minutes from Oxford street. My deluxe room was amazing. Huge bedroom. Huge bathroom shower and bath huge bath. Everything worked perfect. Everything was clean and beautiful. Huge bed too.
I think the double standard rooms are nice too. Even though the rooms in roots hotel are nice. They more expensive and they jus block flats.
This is beautiful setting with car park. Beautiful swimming pool.
Breakfast was freshly cooked whatever eggs you like. Is not far from anything but is tranquil and peaceful.
The staff were all amazing.
And complimentary airport shuttle was nice touch. I absolutely enjoyed this hotel and is the only place I would stat if I went Accra again.
Hotel room looked nicer and more modern on the website but main thing is that it's clean and daily maid service. Looks like they are doing improvements. In a nice quiet area and staff are very friendly and helpful. Young ones in the breakfast area could be more attentive however they do make your eggs fresh to order for breakfast. Room next to rooftop terrace but no disturbance. Had a pleasant stay.
Very good hotel in a very good location for were we needed to be.
Hotel staff all very friendly and helpful, excellent restaurant with very help full chef and as we were there for some time if you wanted something not on the menu you could order it. Fantastic BBQ on Friday evenings on the terrace and again the staff very attentive.
Some rooms could do with a slight upgrade but everything is there and works.
We have at least 3 more visits to Ghana planned for this year and would have no problems with staying here again, you are really made to feel part of a family.
I found this hotel very quiet and has a good ambience in the East Cantonments area of Accra city- it is about 15 -20 minutes from the airport depending on the traffic. The staff are very warm and welcoming, if you arrange earlier for an airport pick-up, the shuttle will pick you.
Really good place to rest and do business, there is a pool to swim and relax after a long working day. Stayed here twice and the longest stay in one setting was 5 days.
I stayed at Midindi with my husband and son for two and a half weeks. I traveled for work and they were there on holiday. The restaurant chef and staff had the best service. They were very accommodating and willing to make special meals for my son who is a fussy feeder. The chef went above and beyond his call of duty to ensure that we were comfortable. We felt very much at home. The food was very very good, fresh and tasty. The reception and house keeping staff were polite and helpful in many ways. The hotel was close to shopping areas and all embassies. We felt very safe during our stay.
While it is NOT cheap, it certainly has good wi-fi service, TV , room service and cleanliness for Kumasi. We have stayed there 4 times now and it's a stone's throw (walking distance) from US Embassy and other businesses. Its got very good guard service --- and you definitely are SAFE. The food is really very very good! And the chef will personally come and get your order to make sure they get it right... WORTH the $$
Let me tell you about delivery. It's not found in reception promises or waiter smiles it's found in the way they ensured to follow up about if my service was on track and had finished accordingly... Midindi, a place where service is the new customer lifeline!
This hotel was a wonderful place to stay. It is in the heart of all the embassies and close to the beaches, mall, shopping, also arts and crafts. The hotel is close to sightseeing locations and close to the presidents house. The staff was wonderful and treated me great. Throughout the day the staff ensures you are doing great. They greet you every time you enter the building and whenever they see you in the hotel. The compound is secure and you feel very safe. The other thing, most important of all, there are no solicitors asking and bugging for things or money. There is a restaurant in the hotel and it has wonderful food. I ate there almost my whole stay. The chef is wonderful. He is back and reviving the food options for hotel. He arranges barbecue for Friday night and cooks great dishes. As for guests, you will see some guest who are regulars here. Many people like to come back to Midindi, especially those who conduct business throughout Africa.
As for my stay, I stayed at the Midindi Hotel for almost over one month. I got to know the manager and staff really well. I was catered to my entire stay and they made sure I was doing great. In fact, on one weekend, the owner took me out on a tour around old town Accra. It was amazing. I also got to meet a lot of people who came to stay at the Midindi for work. It was a fascinating time because we would have dinner and discuss the latest going on in Ghana in the business sector. Overall, my stay here was a great time especially since this was my first time in Africa.
My family and I stayed that the Midindi for four nights upon arriving in Accra. We feel that this is a very good hotel. It's in the heart of Cantonments, not far from the US Embassy, other embassies, and the excellent WEB Dubois center. It is clean, the staff is very friendly and professional, and the restaurant is good. It is not perfect: it took longer than I would have liked to repair an air conditioner, and one morning there was no butter at the breakfast. But few hotels are perfect! I recommend the Midindi very highly; we hope to stay here regularly when we are back in Accra.
We stayed in an other hotel for a few days (Charleston hotel) and we did not like it at all!! When we came to Midindi Hotel, we were very happy. It has a good and smiley crew. The rooms are good. Water pressure is a little problematic but not something very important. It has a small pool too.
