Hotel El Amigo Antigua #2

This was one of the worst places I have stayed in my 17 years of full time travel.

Firstly the customer service was horrendous. The manager was not there when we arrived and left us waiting for over half an hour to check in. When he returned he was pissed drunk and behaving in a very unprofessional way.

Our room was stinking of sweat/dirty feet and it was clear it had not been cleaned in a long time.

The manager then tried to charge us more than the Booking.com price and when we argued about the price difference he called me 'An ugly women' twice! Ridiculous behaviour.

His behaviour was so intimidating that neither me nor my boyfriend felt comfortable leaving the room since the reception desk was right outside. The manager was drinking all night with his friend, shouting and playing music.

The following morning the manager was again very verbally aggressive towards me shouting how he hated the USA as we left the hotel . I'm actually Irish so that made no sense.

I would NOT recommend this hotel at all. Disgraceful staff with no morals whatsoever.

At a certain hour of the night, for some reason, there is no water in the bathrooms... and I believe they should have a bit more cleanliness in the restroom

The address shown on Maps is incorrect; they should fix that because it's complicated to get there. I had to call to get the correct location, but the hotel is located across from Cafe Condesa Express

If you do want to go out late, you should consider that the front door will be closed at that time and that you have to make really heavy noise to get in there during the night.

When I was trying to arrive at the hotel I saw the address that is on the app so I arrived there and I saw no hotel there. Seems to be the address on the app is wrong becuase I couldn't find the hotel I even asked local people where the hotel was but they had no idea. I texted them and they replied back and said the address is correct but they have no sign outsite with the name of the hotel. I was trying to locate it on Google Maps because they told me the hotel It was in front of a cafeteria so I took a screenshot of the hotel I saw in front of that cafeteria on Google Maps and they said that was not the actual hotel so they send me a photo of how the hotel looks like and It was exactly the same hotel I send them. The service was very poor, there is no way you can find out where the hotel is because they have no sign outside and I was confused.

They wasted my time, I never found out where the hotel was located and they ended up telling me they won't be able to get me there that night because they ran out of water and they were not accepting reservations.

I never knew if they charged my credit card because lately I've been making a lot of reservations so I don't know if I enter a credit card when I made the reservation.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone starting by the customer service that was very poor and because they canceled my reservation last minute and I had to waste more time booking a new hotel room.
