Trading on its past glory.....needs an injection of TLC and maintenance....
Pros:

The resort is set in an impressive location but many things in it are tired. The pool area is unloved with an overgrown garden, lights down the road to the pool are broken, the restaurant outside area needs a good sweep and tidy up....all in all the place looks sad. The staff were efficient and personable. I had to ask for another wine glass and some cutlery for the room, the shower cubicle area had blown plaster, the immaculate kitchen (I think newly fitted?) was smart but there were no instructions for the oven/microwave. Also you had enough cupboards that would be at home in flat....why as they were all empty?

I felt I was underwhelmed by the resort as some clients drank cans of booze in the pool and generally seemed to treat the place like a down market cruise ship.

The bed was comfortable, the room clean and the place peaceful......but it left me wishing for more. A shame.....

Do yourself a damn favor and host your wedding/event at Sagecliffe.
Pros:

We celebrated our elopement reception and wedding anniversary at our favorite festival, staying in the Cavern Rooms. We used the event banquet for our reception. AMAZING catering services from Sarah and kitchen crew - they went above and beyond. My absolute recommendation for all brides--to-be. If you want a stress-free event, call Juni at Sagecliffe!

Nice place but it has a few hick-ups.
Pros:

I recently stayed for 2 nights with a girlfriend in a Cliff house room. I have been to this property several times over the years going back to when it was Cave B. My friend had not stayed before, and I wanted this to be a nice experience for her first time. Well....it wasn't quite the super great experience I was hoping for. I had made our reservations in early May for our room, dinner at Tendrils and spa treatments for both of us.
Two days before our arrival I received an email stating that our dinner reservations had been canceled. No reason why, no explanation. I was a bit miffed, so I called them to find out what was the reason. The gal simply said "That's weird, we cancelled those reservations back in May. You should have received that email then" I said no that I had just received the email. I then asked why they were cancelled, and she said they weren't doing the Tendrils dinner any longer on Tuesday and Wednesday. She did inform me that they had pizza among other small dishes. I wasn't happy as I had told my girlfriend how vert good Tendrils was. But we had no choice.
Upon checking in for our room the gal at the front desk found our reservations quickly and said you will be in Cliff house #1 which she said was her favorite one. I was happy to hear that as again my girlfriend had never been, and I told her how nice the rooms are with the patios and views of the river and canyon. When we got to the room, I was rather disappointed as our room had no view of the river. I called the front desk and asked if they had another room available and they said no. I am not sure why the gal said this was one of her favorite rooms as I have stayed in a few of the other rooms all with nice views of the river. The room itself was perfectly fine, but next time I stay I will ask for any room but #1.
We spent some time at the pool, zero complaints there and will mention that they had plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas. They did not always have all those umbrellas in the past.
Dinner was ok. The pizza was ok but not great. Funny I overheard another couple who sat at a table next to us being disappointed about the fact they only had pizza to choose from. She told her guy friend that she was pretty upset how they just received an email the day before that cancelled the Tendrils reservation. I couldn't help but share our similar story with them. They too were not happy about it.
Breakfast has changed as well. You just order your breakfast from the coffee stand and then they bring it out to you. You do not have a lot of choices either. I liked the old way they did it before.
Our time at the spa was the best thing on this trip. Both of our services were top notch. It's a nice, clean relaxing atmosphere. If I lived closer, I would return just for the spa treatments alone.
Sagecliffe is a nice place. I am sure I will visit them again, but it is not a perfect place for sure, especially with the cost of your stay there.

Sunrise on the Columbia
Pros:

Delightful views of the Columbia from our room, bird song, fire pits to enjoy, comfy beds and bath. Our meal at the restaurant was more than just good and the ceasar salad was wow and my husband who knows wine, purchased a good bottle at what he thought was a fair price. Service was welcoming and fast. No complaints!

Girls trip
Pros:

I went on a birthday trip with my sisters to Sagecliff and we all had the best time!!! The restaurant was delicious and the views were spectacular. We all also got massages at the spa and it was exactly what we needed. Prior to our massage we had a chance to talk with our masseuse to make sure we got exactly what we needed!! We all had slightly different but all round an amazing experience. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a crowd free, quiet, and relaxing weekend. We also stopped by the winery and it had a great relaxing vibe.

Nice stay -pricey (150 cleaning fee for one night stay)
Pros:

We had a nice stay here for a group gathering - in February. Fluffy snowfall made the area striking - the units were warm and cozy and well stocked. That said, 175 fee for one night plus 150 cleaning fee - makes me question the value.

This place must be a BLAST in the summer when the artists stay there to play at the gorge. I am sure those units are super expensive but with the pool open and people dining outside - it must be amazing.

Lovely facility with extra firm beds...
Pros:

It's winter so we expected an off season pace without considering that the restaurant would have limited choices but the food was fine with great choices for wine. The Cliffhouses have amazing views but be prepared for extra firm beds. After the first sleepless night we requested a room change but the bed in the room we were shown was just as hard.

Pros:

The room was missing one curtain, one hinge one of the doors to the patie was broken, one chair arm on the patio was broken, one wall in the closet had holed in it and one bracket for the shelf was broken. Painting on wall was crooked, toilet paper holder was crooked even since painting as the paint behind was only matching when crooked. The string lights outside were disconnected. Seems like they dont maintain the property well. Also our parking area was wet muddy grass, almost every other unit was gravel, and robes would be a nice addition to the rooms. The location is pristine, the lodge had cookies that were free, the rooms would be amazing if they were maintained well but as someone in construction i noticed the neglect. Many people would honestly probably just see it as the most beautifull place they have ever stayed. Everything offered at the on site restraunt, front desk and spa seemed very high priced. Honestly if i was in a different profession i would have rated it higher.

A magical spot
Pros:

What a magical place and staff! I highly recommend. My friend and I went for a girls weekend. What a treat. The Cliff Houses are so comfortable and well appointed with stunning views. The spa practitioners are highly skilled and lovely people. Some of the best spa services I have had and I've had many. We participated in a wellness retreat of sound healing, star gazing, yoga, grounded in gratitude. Just beautiful and so restorative. The grounds are stunning, a true oasis. I highly recommend indulging in a stay and spa services. Food options are limited so bring snacks and a flash light or head lamp as the paths are dimly lit.

It is a great place to come and relax, yet close to home. The restaurant offers a farm-to-table menu, a good selection of wine or drinks, and fabulous views of the Gorge.

A Disappointing Stay at Sage Cliff Resort and Spa
Pros:

Our family's stay at Sage Cliff Resort and Spa was unfortunately a major letdown. It quickly became evident that this hotel is far from family-friendly, especially during the winter months.

The lack of basic amenities was shocking. The absence of microwave ovens in the rooms, even for families with young children, was incredibly inconvenient. Additionally, the lack of water heaters for coffee, a standard feature in even budget hotels, was frustrating.

The resort's design choices were questionable, particularly the large, accessible windows in the bathrooms. This lack of privacy was unsettling, especially for families. The dimly lit pathways, devoid of any signage, made nighttime navigation a hazardous affair.

The staff's indifference and lack of helpfulness further compounded the negative experience. The limited parking options, especially for larger vehicles, were a major inconvenience. And to top it all off, many of the amenities were closed during the winter season, severely limiting the recreational opportunities for guests.

Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Sage Cliff Resort and Spa, particularly for families. It's a disappointing choice that falls short of even basic hospitality standards.

Pros:

Stayed here for one night for a concert and it was the most disgusting night I've ever spent at a hotel, let alone a "resort". While the welcome info did warn to be mindful of keeping doors open because critters and bugs, they are situated in a vineyard/orchard, we stayed in our room with the doors shut until the show. The bugs were bad before the show but when we got back it was like a swarm of them - seemed like they may be coming from the shower drain. We called the front desk after the show but were told there was nothing they could do and maintenance was gone. We kept the bathroom door shut and refused to shower at this disgusting place and left as early as we could the next morning. $1200 for one night in a fly-infested dump. Not even going to go into how thin the walls are in the cavern rooms.

Pros:

This review is all about the people who served us. The staff was friendly and attentive. They acted like they genuinely cared despite it being clear to any casual observer that they were run off their feet as management left them understaffed.

The views and facility are situated in one of the most beautiful locations. It's magical.
