A Nicaraguan emerging & hidden gem! Although not part of my original itinerary, H & R Ranch is the superior choice.

I originally booked my Mar 2024 trip to Nicaragua back in Sept. 2023 without any knowledge of H & R Ranch until the day of my flight.

My determination of the unfortunate situation was eased from the moment I phoned H & R Ranch before my last minute booking throughout the duration of my stay at the ranch. The hospitality and experience is more than can be explained in this review, due to Tony's hospitality, my stay at H & R Ranch and the cigar factory tour he arranged has been one of my most cherish trips.

H& R Ranch is about a 3-hour drive from the MGA airport, taxi about $100 USD one-way. The ranch appeared to be easy to find for the taxi.

Check-in was easy & simple; I quickly found out that most of the team does not speak English, however the language barrier didn’t pose any issues. I was warmly greeted by Maury and we were able to bypass the language barrier to get me check-in.

The rooms are as picture, very simple, no glitz & glam but perfect!

The food is good, well seasoned.

If you want serene, stillness, simple, an escape with breathtaking views and energy along so much more, in addition to Texas size hospitality in Nicaragua (Tony is from Texas) along with his amazing team Vanessa, Maury, Adie, and Jose, than visit Nicaragua and book your stay at H & R Ranch for an unforgettable and priceless experience.

The place was not clean when I was checked in!… and it looked like it wasn’t maintained…. Faucets in bathrooms were falling off….there was so much dirt, stains and bugs all over the place… the restaurant stuff was not friendly at all!… we stayed there 3 days/2 nights, and by the second day, we got food poisoning from the breakfast!.. we decided to skip dinner and breakfast on the last day!… there’s no way I would ever recommend this place!…

Great staff! Give them a raise! They deserve it!!!!

Nature is beautiful and the property is surrounded by mountains. Needs improvement for the children playing area. Overall it was a good nightstay.

The cabin we got was beautiful. Guests need to know there are only partial walls. Suggestions small...need a trash can other than the bathroom and chairs to enjoy the gorgeous view on the balcony. Food excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

L’endroit est magique. Une vue incroyable, le personnel très gentils, le proprio n’a que du plaisir à nous jaser, bref, j’y retournerais volontiers. Et si vous aimez le yoga, vous allez trouver ça hyper Zen.

It's completely out of city. You need a car. It's not a typical hotel. Staff is not specific trained in hotel issues, but very kind and helpful. Internet works well. Warm water works well, normal WC, very nice surroundings if you like landscape and green. In the restaurant, reduced options of dishes, but I liked it quite. The rooms are space full, simple, and as with natural roof you get nature in the living. Means also, insects, spiders and frogs. Roof is noisy at night, when the wind hauls. So, if you are afraid of any of it, this is not your hotel. If you like a simple, spaceful place out if much civilization, this is recommended.

I had an amazing stay with my girlfriend and Tony is a great and wonderful host 🙏
