Decent hotel with warm and supportive staff, especially the manager who made many allowance to make our stay memorable.

Staff is very very nice and the Manager Mr. Emmanuel was super helpful in many ways, including solving a little problem created by Booking.com (not by the hotel)
The position only about 10 minutes from the airport, the view, and the style of the rooms are a plus. I also appreciated the free and timely shuttle to the airport early in the morning
The restaurant (including room service) is open 24 hours and food is quite decent
Velvet Suites offers a very reasonable price, for a comfortable experience. I definitely recommend it if you are travelling and do not want to waste time in Kigali's traffic
Booking. had sent me an email in Italian saying that my credit card "will be debited" 24 hours prior my arrival. I had chosen a non refundable (no free cancellation) option, so it made sense.
At arrival, I thought the bill had been paid already, according to my reservation
However, on the actual Booking.com My reservation webpage, the text (still in Italian) was different and it said that the card "might be debited". This is obviously a substantial difference and it created some initial misunderstanding, which were handled very gracefully by the hotel staff and promptly clarified.
