I arrived at property only to be moved to another property because another guest had reported being bitten was told I would be informed what the cause was I have heard nothing I was led to believe bedding was changed every other day not changed once I think owner should look again at what they list on their breakdown of what guests can expect needless my first visit to Scotland wasn’t all I wanted it to be
The property looks ok from a distance, up close you see that the finishes are poor and it is not well run. I received an email asking to call them 30 mins prior to arrival, then the guy says I need to call when I arrive, why not just say that in the email? When I called again they seemed to be giggling while explaining how to access the room, it was strange. The room seemed ok, however the bed was very poor, not a real mattress or duvet, and only one hand towel between the two of us. Also there was a fan and hair dryer just sat on the floor when there is a large empty wardrobe area they could be placed in, again strange. Parking is very limited, there are 5 spaces realistically, and there seemed to be a van and car there permanently, so only 3 spaces for guests. We had to park out on the street. The breakfast was horrible, there was no real coffee, only decaf. No real bread, only gluten free. Pastries and cheese placed out were stale and the same ones each day. We bought our own bread and coffee from the shop for breakfast on the second day, and the jam and honey had disappeared so it was just dry toast for us. Worst thing was this little woman (who I assume worked there) just sat in the kitchen the entire time watching. Not lifting a finger to help when you can't find any coffee, but just watching and not saying anything. Super weird, super off-putting, strangest and worst breakfast I've ever experienced on a stay away. I will not be returning.
This property is lovely and well kept. Would definitely stay again
Room were good enough and clean.
But it's really a hazzle to get into the apartment. I had to made 4 phone calls over 5 mins, even though I rang the manager in advance 45 mins before coming. Poorly managed and organised. No breakfast at all (breakfast included in the stay). Very disappointed with the stay. THANK YOU.
Basically speaking, top notch property but run badly. It would be a top notch as a self-catering apartments.
As a hotel, you receive no greeting, no way to communicate with management, no response to SMS nor phone calls.
Quite inconveniently, breakfast was apparently served from 8am, and there was absolutely nothing in the kitchen at 7.30am. 8am was too late for us as we were heading back to London.
Other hotels serve breakfast from 6am or 7am latest. There was nothing around to cook or eat, no bread, no eggs, no jams, nothing at all. But plenty of dishes, a hob, utensils everything you love in self-catering, but useless in a proper hotel.
