This ended up being our kids’ favorite of the six places we stayed on Moorea, and it’s easy to see why. The staff were responsive and easy to deal with throughout. They can’t store luggage after checkout, but they let you keep access to the property and a shared bathroom, which made our last day so much more comfortable while we waited to leave.
Breakfast was included and convenient, but the kitchen is also fully stocked with every appliance you’d need, so we had options. We loved having dinner out on our private patio in the evenings. The beds were comfy (including a fold-out), the bathroom and shower facilities were great, and the whole place was spotless. AC worked well, there was a mosquito deterrent, and they even leave out monoi oil for you.
There’s a sweet little beach area the kids played on, and the hot tub was a huge hit with them. Kayaks with paddles and life jackets, and there’s a market right across the street, which is incredibly handy. We watched a gorgeous sunset from the beach one evening.
The most unforgettable part: paddle out into the bay at sunrise and you can come across a group of dolphins. Absolutely magical and something the kids still talk about.
We absolutely loved our stay in Fare Oaoa Haapiti. The place is a very cute and private collection of bungalows, surrounded by palm trees and nature, which gives it the feeling of a peaceful little village. Our bungalow was at the far end of the property and beach, so we enjoyed a lot of privacy, including on our little terrace.
The bungalow itself was really lovely: small but very comfortable, beautifully decorated in Polynesian style, and full of thoughtful touches. We really appreciated the monoi available for guests, the beautifully prepared island guide, and the care that had clearly gone into making the space feel welcoming and practical despite its size. The bed was great, the AC and fan both worked well, and we also appreciated the property’s efforts around sustainability and clean energy.
The beach was beautiful, with blacktip reef sharks coming to say hello surprisingly close to shore. It was also a fantastic place to watch the sunset — genuinely one of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen. Breakfast was fresh, generous, and had everything we needed to start the day.
The staff was really great, friendly and helpful.
Overall, this is an awesome place. We’ll definitely be back, and we’ll be recommending it to friends and family.
The bungalow was a little small so with 2 suitcases, it was a little crowded.
While the beach area itself is clean and well maintained, the water conditions are disappointing. The water is murky rather than clear, extremely shallow, and difficult to access without stepping on numerous sea cucumbers. In addition, large amounts of muddy sediment and decomposing vegetation accumulate in the water, likely due to runoff from the creek located immediately adjacent to the beach. These conditions significantly detract from the enjoyment of the beach and make swimming unpleasant. Forget about the blue "Polynesian" water.
The property is located directly on the island's main road, and your first impression is a parking lot, multiple parked vehicles, and an off-leash dog that barks constantly and occasionally nips at guests' legs.
The bungalows are only a few feet apart and share a common pathway, resulting in virtually no privacy. Guests regularly walk in front of bedroom windows, park next to bathroom windows, and use common areas directly in front of your terrace.
The biggest issue is the noise. There is no meaningful soundproofing, so you hear every passing vehicle, neighboring guest, barking dog, and activity from the supermarket across the street. Truck deliveries start around 5:00 a.m. and continue throughout the day. The property even provides complimentary earplugs in the room, which became necessary for us to sleep. Trash pickup at night happens just outside the bedroom window.
The daytime staff is kind and helpful, although English is limited, but service is very restricted after approximately 5:00 p.m. Breakfast is included but remained essentially unchanged during our five-day stay.
Most disappointing was the response from the owner and management company. Despite providing videos and recordings documenting the noise and privacy issues, there was little interest in addressing the concerns. The repeated response was that the noise originated outside the property. However, guests choose accommodations based on the overall experience, and basic expectations such as privacy, reasonable noise control, and restful sleep should be part of that experience.
I highly recommend Fare Oaoa! It was a little paradise, and we'd love to come back with the whole family. Parking is safe, and easy, and there is a grocery store just across the street. The common areas are wonderful: a small pool, a nice hot tub, a community kitchen including a grill, lovely beach access, plus stunning sunsets and stargazing. Our room was beautifully made up with fresh orchids tucked here and there. The A/C worked great; the layout was perfect; the modern bathroom was huge; the kitchen had everything we needed; and we loved our private outdoor patio which had lounge & dining furniture. The Fare offers free kayaks with which you can paddle out to to the reef for clear waters, good snorkeling, and if you are lucky visits from dolphins.
The beach is not a gorgeous swimming beach by Moorea standards, but looking out over and listening to the water was mesmerizing.
Quirky “beach hut” style apartment with everything provided to self cater albeit breakfast was included
Shallow reef so difficult to swim. That said, the owners provided kayaks and it was easy to get to a swimming area

Attendez.... Je cherche.... Non c'est tout bon 😁

The cottage was very comfortable, very clean and grounds were well maintained.
There was some work being done on one of the communal bathrooms, grinding and tile saw I believe. Also some work in the morning on metal roofing, sawing. At a property manager myself, I understand there is always something that needs repair and some projects need to be delayed till there are no guests in my opinion.
The close proximity to the main road was a bit more noisy than expected. LOTS of roosters and workers commuting woke me up at 4am.
Logement trés spacieux et bien équipé, parfait pour 2 familles.
Une seule salle de bain.
The facilities, the iindness of the staff, the place is very quiet
L'accueil et la gentillesse du personnel.
Le logement tout équipé et l'aménagement.
