Magnifique bâtisse
Pros:

Très belle batisse. Très belle chambre fort agréable.
Emplacement parfait.

Charming place
Pros:

"Villa Angelique" is a charming place in the centre of Saint Denis. The rooms are spacious and clean. The garden is beautifully maintained.
The staff is kind and helpful. Monsieur Alain deserves a special mention.
Also, there's lots to see close by.

Charming hotel with kind staff
Pros:

This hotel is beautiful and well managed. I arrived quite early, so my room was not immediately ready, but I was offered a place to sit and a welcome drink. My interest, however, was in exploring the town and the young man at reception was very helpful in helping me to find some of the places I wanted to visit.

When I did enter my room, I was amazed at how beautiful it was. It was spacious and luxurious, but it also had character, unlike many chain hotel rooms.

The Villa Angelique also is very well located for walking around central St. Denis, an underappreciated town full of charming colonial buildings.

All members of the staff were kind and helpful.

Great historic villa
Pros:

We stayed one night in the Villa. Beautiful historic place right in the heart of St-Denis. We showed up very early and could change and freshen up as check in at 2pm.
The Villa has various lounge areas, nice breakfast area and room was great. Soft bed, big bathroom, Nespresso machine with cups. Room was clean. Staff very friendly.

Gorgeous building, disappointing stay!
Pros:

This hotel is well situated in the city’s smartest street and has a smart and elegant feel about it. The architecture is typical of Saint Denis’ colonial villas. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in for a while. The customer service was mixed depending upon which staff member we interacted with.

Unfortunately there were a number of issues during our three night stay. We were allocated a relatively small room with a small window in the corner of the room looking out on to the rubbish bins. The automatic toilet light didn't work. The TV remote was out of battery. The air conditioner made a whirring sound. We complained about the noise and were told by a friendly receptionist that she did not have access to an engineer and all rooms were full but they could move us for the last night of our stay.

The new room was above an office in the back of the property and overlooked the kitchen so was clearly noisy and with the only window facing the kitchen it wasn't very private. Sadly, the TV remote in this room also didn’t work either and when we asked the receptionist, we were given a different remote control which also didn't work (no surprise as it was for a different brand than the TV in our room).

We asked if we could have some milk to make tea with the provided kettle in the room and were told that they didn't have any and I should go and get it from the Carrefour supermarket around the corner. Disappointingly, I was asked more than six times during our stay if I would like to book breakfast in the morning- not sure how this would have been possible without milk!

Altogether, given this was the most expensive hotel in town, our three night stay was marred by the above.

A charming hotel
Pros:

A charming hotel, located on the most interesting street in the city near the center museum. Professional service, attentive and with a quality menu offer. Very pleasant spaces and highly recommended for those who want to know the historical culture of the La Reunion.

Only one night
Pros:

Visited Villa Angelique and stayed only one night as we had a booking at St Gilles.
Shame as the price, service,p room and food could not have been better.
We arrived lateish at 7pm and the front desk was expecting us.
Booking in was simple and we went down to the restaurant at 730pm.
Here where the service went next level.....
We had our 8 month old son with us and asked if chef could make us some vegetable soup.
No problem and they even gave mum and I a bowl!
We then wanted a small plate of fish and veg for the baby and again we were impressed (₩see photo)
My wife and I were also impressed with our food....really top shelf.
Shame we didn't stay a couple of nights.
Highly recommended Enjoy

Comfortable night at this hotel
Pros:

I spent one night at this hotel and found my room to be very comfortable. Central location on charming street. My large room was on the front of the building, so on the street. I imagine it could be loud at times. The person at the front desk when I arrived did not speak English.

Charming place
Pros:

Attentive service but not so warm for a very lovely location, so charming and genuine atmosphere... but!
the food was a disappointment... the worst sole meuniere ever. Was it fresh?
Some associations of flavors were interesting ...
Wine selection extremely limited.
This place is definitely and locally overrated.

2 stays
Pros:

We stayed here twice, at the beginning and end of our trip to Reunion. One night each time. On our first stay we arrived late in the evening. We were shown to a room in annexe which is not one of the rooms shown on the website. It was a decent size but in need of redecoration.we didn't want to be there again for our second visit so for a few Euro arranged to upgrade to a larger room on our return. So much nicer, in the main building, a nicely decorated spacious room. Both rooms had nice extras, a coffee machine with capsules, and a delivery of a delicious dessert each visit.
The food here was quite outstanding.Dinner was excellent, we booked for lunch before our flight the next day, it was also extremely good. Good carefully selected wines too. Breakfast was also very nice and good quality, delivered in courses to the table, with plenty of good quality coffee.
A good stay ,the suite is worth the extra. I am sure the rooms in the main building are very nice too,we just didn't like the one in the annexe. The hotel is owner run, the restaurant is really good and something to be proud of. The best food by a long way on Reunion.

Charming Hotel, Personalized Service
Pros:

We arrived to this quiet hotel after 16 hours of flying and an 8 hr. layover, so imagine how special it was to be so well accommodated by the proprietor, Guillaume Brillatz. He prepared a lovely breakfast for us while we awaited our room being cleaned. When we walked into our room, there we found two delectable French desserts waiting for us on the desk!

Our room was on the small side but adequate. The bathroom had an ultra modern basin which one must be careful not to splash, because of the lip which is sloped in a curve, allowing water to go where it shouldn't! The shower is an half-open style, no tub. The toilet is in a separate room. There is a safe, a mini-bar and a refrigerator.

Dining here is wonderful! The proprietor is once again attentive to all his guests and the kitchen does a wonderful job of preparing delectable dishes; the presentation is worthy of taking a photo or two!

You can find an ATM, out the front door, left and about 3-4 blocks on the corner.

Lot of charm and looks at a price
Pros:

This is a beautiful place to stay at. It is located close to many interesting sites found in St Denis. This allows guests to explore and walk to many interesting places. The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms look fantastic. Our room, however was very very hot. Yes the room had an a/c, but we preferred not to sleep with the a/c on. Note that the hotel does not offer parking on the premises. You have to park outside in the public parking spaces. We only had breakfast at Villa Angelique and it was fairly basic. Good, but basic. Overall I would say that the hotel is beautiful yet expensive. The restaurant menu was very expensive. Staff were friendly enough.

Excellent Hotel - Beautiful Villa
Pros:

Our first two nights in Reunion were spent in this lovely hotel. Our room was very tastefully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. A coffee machine, kettle and well-stocked minibar are provided. The owners and staff were all very friendly without being intrusive. We did not eat at the restaurant but now we wish we had! The only negative point was that there is no parking available on the premises and parking nearby was difficult.
