Sanalae Apartments

Very friendly and effective staff. Made me feel very much at home. The location has wonderful views, however, it is a little distance from the CBD which is problem if you're traveling for work. For a holiday a more flexible work schedule - this would not apply. The apartment itself, including Wi fi and all the facilities were excellent and well maintained.

I enjoyed my stay here. This was a good base with a few home comforts for a solo traveller. The bed was very comfortable and there were a few okay TV channels - more than I expected. The WiFi kept going offline but always came back on after a few minutes so it really wasn't an issue overall. The windows are cheaper slat windows which means it can be a bit noisy in the room but, overall, again not too much of an issue. There's a great supermarket about fifteen minutes walk away at the Panatina Plaza.
However, I am calling out the location details on the listing, which were very misleading: Honiara Central Market is absolutely not "11 minutes walk". It is nearly 6km and takes an hour or so to walk to. I walked once and got a public bus the next day. One of the reasons I booked here was because of the assertions about "What's nearby". Other claims about What's nearby were also misleading. Overall communication was fine and staff very friendly. On balance I was happy with my stay - but the 'what's nearby' listings should be updated on the hotels.com listing.

Sanalae was an excellent place to stay for my recent trip to Honiara. Nancy was really quick to reply to emails. My apartment was lovely: clean, tidy and nicely decorated, and the WIFI was great. Will stay here next time I'm in Honiara. All the staff were lovely also.

The bed was comfortable. The studio room. was spacious and clean.. The kitchen had everything.Staff were friendly. But the view was more beautiful overlooking the sea.

Stayed here for a week, place was clean, room set ups are very stylish and well maintained to keep you comfortable. It has a security 24/7 days. Staff are friendly and open, makes me feel good and comfortable. Event more nicer, Vicinity is very respectful so you will love and enjoy your privacy with striking view from the deck it just take your breath away. I highly recommend it for those who want to get way from home (Solo) and oversea travelers.

We loved this place. The room was beautifully appointed and immaculately clean. The entire staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. Junior at reception tried hard to address any needs we had. Matilda and the housekeeping staff were an inspired bunch leaving our towels laid out in intricate patterns and placing flower blossoms all over the room. They were so lovely!

Our only complaint was that the WiFi arrangement is not great. You are given a code to a hot spot with very limited usage. Once you used up the allotted data, you have to pony up more money to get more. Save yourself the aggravation and get a local SIM card. For about $12 USD you can get a 1.5 GB for seven days.

A quiet place away from the noise of the main street. Well appointed with anything you need to make your stay pleasurable. The bed is very comfy, the room is very clean with modern appliances, aircon goes strong and there's also a ceiling fan for those balmy nights. Staff is the friendliest we've ever experienced in our travels, the accepted us at 7am after a long night on the ferry from Western province so the hot shower was a godsend. We can't recommend the place enough. Next time we drop in Honiara this is the place we're going to stay

We were unsure of our stay here as the photos don't do it justice! On arrival the staff were friendly and welcoming. We were put in a new room although we had booked a garden room but we ended up with views of the Ocean. The room was well appointed and possibly the cleanest room we have ever stayed in. There were laundry facilities on site and we were able to iron clothes which was much needed! We had a problem with the internet but staff helped us sort it immediately. Everything was outstanding and well exceeded our expectations. A must stay place for visitors to the area.

My wife and I stayed in Sanalae 3 a new apartment with exceptional views across the bay to the outer isles. The accommodation comprised a lovely bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette. There was also a small terrace and all services including laundry and WiFi were provided. Would certainly recommend.

I stay at Sanale Apartments every time I travel to Honiara, a few times a year. The apartments are clean and well maintained. I love having a kitchenette if I wish to cook in. Parking is secure and it is a quiet place on high ground. I highly recommend it.

Reviews look great, but disappointed that S. Apts hasn't responded to two requests to cancel a booking & submission of bank details. Intermittent internet or not worthy of prompt action by S.A? I'm not sure but I wish they could be as good as the reviews say when it comes to confirming cancellations!

Rooms spotless and cleaned daily . Sabrina was very helpful in assisting me with tourist information . Would highly recommend to people over highly priced , sanitised big hotels . Room was big and comfortable bed and TV had EPL and better coverage of the Olympics than Australia .

My wife and I spent 11 nights at Sanalae Apartments recently. We selected Sanalae Apartments for a couple of reasons. First and foremost was the fact that each room has a nicely kitted out kitchen inclusive of a two burner cooktop, sink, half size (i.e. bigger than a bar fridge) fridge and microwave. All the pots and pans and utensils that you need are also provided. The other reason that we chose to stay there was because I had stayed before and found the rooms to be really well maintained and impeccably clean - something that is definitely not common in Honiara. Lastly, the staff at Sanalae are terrific and they really made us feel at home. I was quite busy with my work and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the company of the Manageress, Virginia, and the receptionist, Sabrina who treated us like family for the entirety of our stay. We met the owner of the establishment, Hedley, who also made us feel like we were old friends reuniting after many years. We thoroughly recommend the Sanalae Apartments to people who want to stay in a nice quiet location in a clean modern room. I have stayed in a number of hotels in Honiara and this is my favourite to which I keep returning.

I recently stayed here for a week. From the very start, the service was outstanding. Our room only had 1 double bed rather than the twin bedding arrangement we had requested. Upon finding out, another bed was located and within 15 minutes we had our twin bedded room made up looking like both beds had always been there. Although the smaller garden view apartments (which we had) are small, they are still adequate and well maintained. The gardens are also beautifully maintained. The staff were always friendly, and we came out a couple of mornings in a row to the carpark to find our hire car had been magically washed for us. The security guys were great and very obliging.
It would be difficult to stay here without access to transport, but if you have access to a car, stay here. You won't be sorry!
