Pros:

The hotel is beautiful and every detail has been considered. It was completely renovated in 2022, but you feel like you are stepping into 1900. Very luxurious all around, nice seating areas including by a fireplace. Snooker table in a room with patterned carpet and deer antlers on the wall, really cool. Dinner was good, as was breakfast. The royal golf course is right outside, as well as the beach.

Cons:

Beautiful decorated hotel

A relaxing and comfortable place to stay out of season when quiet for when shoulders need to drop.
Pros:

Loved the decor, the real fire, the many options to cosy down inside or out with a book, the chilled iced tea, the bar area, the billiards table etc

Cons:

The only thing spoiling our stay was dinner. The restaurant was closed so dinner was in the bar. Our venison main was lukewarm and the young American waiter was not apologetic but rather arrogant and told us there was no more venison so having chosen a decent bottle of red for our main we chose steaks which were well cooked ( medium rare) and flavoursome
The menu is American themed - steak, burgers and the like so rather limited which can be a good thing but not when meat dishes are burgers or steak sandwiches and the live,
Gabrielle at reception is superb - a treasure and knows his stuff - a pleasure to relate to .

Pros:

Love this hotel. Staff are very nice and restaurant serves great food.

Cons:

When I booked this visit it said free upgrade, so I thought,'yeh great'. Have stayed here a couple of times and always good-sized room, so I was a bit shocked after getting upgrade, which
I hadn't asked for, we ended up with a very small room....def not the room on the picture. But everything else was great with stay....just wouldn't take the free upgrade next time if we got offered it again.

Amazing food, good value for money and lovely staff
Pros:

A group of 8 of us travelled to Dornoch for a long weekend to celebrate a 60th birthday. During that weekend we booked into the last sitting of Sunday lunch in the Golden Gorse restaurant at 2.30pm. It was a very quiet day in Dornoch and when we went to the hotel we entered a beautiful reception and were directed in to the restaurant where there were only 2 other people in there.
The staff were attentive and very professional and looked after us so well.
The food we were served was far beyond my expectations. The starters we all had were amazing, the smoked mackerel salad was fantastic, the mushroom pate was gorgeous and the mussels portion was huge.
The roast lamb was succulent and very tasty and those who had the salmon were very happy.
All in all the quality of the food was top notch and for £28.50 for 2 courses was unbelievable value for money.
We loved it so much we came back the following evening for a meal in the bar and the food was just as good, the Cullen Skink was lovely as was the the fish and chips. All meals that evening were just as good.
To top it all we played snooker and had a great laugh
I can highly recommend eating here, great food and good value for money

Room packages and food overpriced.
Cons:

Breakfast mediocre selection
Hot food at buffet - cold.
ALTHOUGH courteous, staff at Receptio seemed illinformed at times.and we came away without answers to our queries.

Pros:

Die Lage und Umgebung ist gut.

Cons:

Pros:

Nice view

Cons:

Breakfast options were few and lack of quality. You should go have breakfast at Dornoch Castle, as it is much better. The staff not all that friendly.
