If i could leave 0 stars I would. Firstly, since i was going to be arriving after midnight i reached out to the property to inform, nobody responded for the month leading to my arrival. A few days before i called to again ask for information regarding a later arrival time - no answer. Day of my flight and arrival to LA i get a message stating “i have to relocate guest tonight having a power problem” , followed by “you have to call Expedia they will handle” when it was past 7pm and my flight was in an hour.. After haphazardly finding a place to stay with no notice, i then call Expedia to get a refund on my stay , where they say they cannot reach the merchant because they won’t answer. Then to get an notice stating that the merchant wouldn’t waive the refund. Absolutely ridiculous and that an establishment would refuse to give a refund when THEY were the ones unable to fulfill the service.

NOT worth the cost per night. No alternate means of checking in, no doorbell or video system, only via phone call upon arrival. I arrived later in the evening and the number provided was unavailable. This is very upsetting when there’s no other way to contact the host. Host messaged last minute claiming to relocate my stay but did not provide alternative accommodation. Also, don’t expect speedy communication, host does not follow up on messages.

Only caveat is that it’s street parking only

La PodLife offers a unique hostel experience that blends futuristic design with budget-conscious accommodations. The sleeping pods are primarily twin-bed size, and the hostel's strict rules ensure an immaculately clean environment throughout. The entire space is illuminated with the glow of blue LEDs, creating a distinctly Sci-Fi ambiance.

The staff's helpfulness, particularly their willingness to accommodate my late arrival, made a positive impression.

While the shared bathrooms and limited pod storage might not be everyone's cup of tea, the option to upgrade to a private room with a queen-size pod, private closet and bathroom significantly elevates the experience. I highly recommend this option, especially for taller guests or those seeking more privacy and comfort.

The communal areas, including a kitchenette and exercise room, offer basic amenities, although the cooking restrictions in the kitchenette are worth noting.

Overall, La PodLife is a solid choice for solo travelers or those seeking a unique and affordable stay. The twin pods might be a tight squeeze for some, but the private rooms provide a comfortable and convenient alternative.

Great option for those who just want a quick and affordable place to sleep

Great stay and excellent host and amenities. The whole staff from Kevin to the owner and cleaners deserve a raise and incentive. Best hostel I ever stayed at, it is like traveling to another world. Like reading a book, playing a video game, and or watching a movie you get transported to another plane. Something unique and different.

I stayed there for a few days. The staff on property, Kevin, was very nice and helpful! He was the best part of staying there.

Everything else is basically trash.

The neighborhood is… interesting to say the least. You’re not allowed to eat in the pod kitchen, not even snacks. You have to go all the way to the main kitchen- which is in another building. You can’t leave ANYTHING- not even slippers. It’s freezing in there all the time, but you’re not allowed to turn down the air conditioning.


It’s also been quite sometime and they have yet to give my deposit back, which I paid through cashapp of all things.

Seriously, this place is not worth $100 bucks a night.

The host of this hotel was super communicative and friendly! It felt as though we were staying at a friends house rather than a hotel! The place is a quiet zone 24/7 which makes the living situation so much nicer. Everything was spotless and clean on arrival and each day the rooms were tidied to always look their best! Will definitely be visiting here again!

I loved staying at LA PodLife!
The hosts are very communicative and helpful whenever you need anything. The place was very clean, guests were very respectful, and they had very cool amenities. I was traveling alone, so one of my main concerns was safety and comfortably, but I didn’t have any issues with that! It was overall a great experience, I would definitely stay here again!

Simple easy stay and was always quiet

I love the services from Kevin and Chris, they both are great to me. The place is very clean and it’s a very luxury capsule hotel which I love. I met cool people who are going to Anime Expo. It’s worth it, I have great experiences here. Thank you Kevin and Chris for being nice and trying your best to do everything as you guys can. If you are traveling solo to anime expo, I would recommend this place if you are okay with outside of the place.

Outside of the homeless people around the property it was a great and clean stay and the staff helped accommodate my friend and I really well

Place is great if you are looking for a place to sleep and don't mind sharing other things like a bathroom.
The main problem is that it's an area that has a lot of homeless people living nearby....

Good privacy and services.

It was a unique experience staying in a pod in LA. I enjoyed my stay. The staff was great and the property was very clean. The neighborhood surrounding the property was a little off putting when I first arrived but I quickly was made to feel safe and comfortable once I was inside the property itself.

Great staff members. Kevin was super friendly and helpful, I would definitely come back in the future!

Really great, and unique experience. Deff recommend if you are just needing a place to sleep. Generous accomodations with 10/10 customer service. Chris and Kevin went above and beyond for me.
