Dear Magi, dear Sandra, and dear housekeeping team, thank you so much for your attentive and warm service. I felt very comfortable at Hotel Shade. The hotel is ideal for solo travelers as well as couples. It’s just a few steps from Tamarindo village and close to the beach, yet very quiet. I’ll miss the delicious, varied breakfast for a long time to come. The pool is large enough to swim a few laps while watching the monkeys swinging through the nearby palm trees.

El personal es muy amable y la localización es muy cómoda.
Didn't try the food as I only stayed for a night. It's a really nice place as per what's shown in the pictures so liked it. It's a 10 minute walk to the beach so convenient as well. I think Tamarindo is a pricey town in general so felt like prices are on the higher end but the stay was really nice :)
Great proximity to the beach, clean, parking on site, and reasonable price.
Being accused of smoking marijuana on our balcony at 8am by a "manager" who, when confronted, lied to us and said she didn't say that but that I must have misunderstood because of her French accent. I'm Canadian and speak french, an accent would not confuse me. This was our second time here but we will not be back due to this.

The rooms were actually a bit cramped and have an outdoor kitchenette. Not enough table or counter space inside room.

Loved everything about this place! Staff was amazing, pool was exceptional and the location is perfect. The Thursday night mixer with drinks and appetizers was a great touch and a perfect way to meet other travelers. The cafe offered free coffee and tea as well as a delicious breakfast.
Die Lage war gut und zentral. Das Angebot an Frühstück war gut.
Es entsprach nicht den Erwartungen. Vorallem das Badezimmer war sehr dreckig (Fugen, Duschkopf, Wasserhahn), sodass wir uns davor geekelt haben zu duschen. Der Kühlschrank ist sehr laut und steht direkt neben dem Bett, was es sehr unangenehm macht, um runterzukommen. Das Bett war hart, jedoch auf den ersten Blick sauber. Alles in allem würde ich für diesen Preis auf keinen Fall die Unterkunft erneut buchen. Wir empfangen es als Scam, da es auf den Bildern besser aussah als es in echt war.

The owners live on the property and complain about noise. Also, the bathroom/shower head and sink need a serious upgrade.
