You'd need a good sense of humour and a very optimistic mind to stay here
Pros:

The onsen was amazing, right next to a river. The place was very old but had character, and a story to it! The style was very traditional Japanese style which I loved.

Cons:

Maybe becasue it was so old, the hallways had a few Japanese stink bugs (I did a google search to find what they were) crawling around. They weren't in the room luckily but it did seem a little freaky at first. Also ear plugs at night is a must becasue the rive can be quite loud, and there are trucks that drive by frequently and make a bit of a noise.

Pros:

Amazing host dedicated to a good experience for his guests. Some other reviews make it sound like the place is dirty or falling apart, I found it to be clean and full of character and charm. Very glad we stayed.

Pros:

The mixed outdoor onsen was great! Also the staff and owner were really really nice!

Cons:

The building and facilities were a bit worn down. The next conbini is a 30-40 min footwalk away.
