Very kind host and beautiful room with a lot of space.
Rather quiet surroundings, easy to sleep at night. We were the only guests. Rather traditional Japanese style.
Nothing in particular.
Location, clean, freedom, heat & hot water

Super friendly staff. Easy check in and out. Lots of room for family. The air conditioning in the room works great and is comfortable. You feel like you're living in the house as your own and not a guest. The common space was adorable with lots of books and games. I love all the little pieces of art around it. I wish we would have stayed longer and got to know the manager more as he was very friendly and even knew a little English too!
I would not say this is something I did not like personally, but others who stay may mind (especially if foreign). I didn't realize the staff was going to be staying in the house down the hall from us, but he did not bother us at all. Also, it's very hot (august) and it's hard to heat Japanese homes in the summer as they use individual units in the rooms and save money by turning them off when the room isn't in use. Again, this is okay with me, but to some foreigners it may not be what they're used to. I live in Japan, so I'm used to it and know what to expect.
