Don’t stay here , noisy and uncomfortable
Pros:

Location
Staff friendly

Cons:

Very very small bedroom .
Not as clean as normal Japanese standards.
Noisy , could hear everything other guests doing , walking , closing doors talking . Also constant beeping of traffic lights
Uncomfortable futon and pillow .
Lounge area was bland uninviting .
A very poor choice by me , we tried to find alternative accommodation it was so bad .

Ottimo soggiorno
Pros:

La camera era un po' piccola dovendo anche anche farci entrare i bagagli, i due futon occupavano molto spazio quindi eravamo un po' limitati nei movimenti. Si dorme su futon che ho trovato comodi. I bagni in comune erano molto puliti. Vicinissimo al castello di Matsumoto. Facile da raggiungere a piedi dalla stazione.

Great location, bring earplugs
Pros:

Host was very friendly and the location was conveniently close to the castle and loads of restaurants.

Cons:

The photos make it look nicer than it really is. It was interesting to stay in a guesthouse, but the futons were uncomfortable and the walls very thin, you could hear every conversation of your neighbours as if it was in your room. Our room was next to the toilet, so there was constant noise when other people went to the restroom, and waking up at 6 a.m. because everyone else was getting ready in the shared space isn’t exactly a relaxing holiday.

Wonderful. The host was so sweet too. I loved this place so much and recommend it to anyone And hope to visit again

An honest and most amazing ryokan experience with super friendly staff!
Pros:

If you want the honest Ryokan experience, this is your place! Staff has been most amazing, especially the lady who checked us in. The location is so convenient, 15 min away from the main station and some 5-8 min walk from Matsumoto Castle and the market street. Most of all, Ryokan is located one floor above the traditional Takagi Soba Restaurant which is so much worth visiting! Again staff there has been amazing and the full glass of warm liquor recommended to me was the best medicine ever;) If you want any souvenir, you just need to pop in to the ground floor and you will have a good selection of small gits to chose from. By the way, the buckwheat pillows used in the Ryokan are the best I have slept on!

Comfortable stay near Matsumoto Castle
Pros:

Our stay was lovely - our host was very friendly and stayed later for our check-in due to a train delay. He was very helpful with explaining the room facilities. The room was comfy, and the inn was only a short walk from Matsumoto Castle and convenience stores which was great.

Cons:

The accommodation was wildly expensive for a traditional inn, which was to be expected during the Nagano festival.

Good value hostel close to the castle and in walking distance to the station.
Pros:

Very good locations, overall very clean and good amenities in the room.

Cons:

We had the room next to the toilet. Because the toilet room was quite small people often pumped into the wall, which was quite loud inside the room. This only applies to one of the offered rooms.
