The hotel was not at all accommodating regarding refunds, caused by a typhoon.

The friendly staff in the restaurant at breakfast and the young gentlemen at the night reception.

Cons:

My wife and I booked 5 nights. Unfortunately we had to check out two nights early due to a typhoon. The hotel was not at all accommodating regarding refunds, which would be expected in this price range.

The room was ok, but not very private as it is directly opposite the restaurant. We arrived in the evening and wanted to eat in the hotel restaurant, which was not possible without a reservation. A warning would have been helpful here as we were quite isolated without a car due to the location of the hotel.

Pros:

The staff were lovely, the place was very clean, pool was great and the location was convenient.

Cons:

The staff weren't given license to help in situations like our child needing a snack at dinner, the only only option given was for all four of us to get the full buffet which would have been crazy price to pay when all our kid wanted was a bread roll... Then there was getting a room with a full kitchen area but having to request cutlery, plates and pans, and then when we thought we'd lost our key card being told we'd be charged £25 which we all know cost the hotel next to nothing... + there was no nice room gift on arrival and they'd always run out of milk in the coffee machine, and the rooms albeit spotless were kinda cheaply done... 1, 2 or 3 of these things wouldn't have been a problem, and as I say all the staff were really lovely — but it was a reasonable expensive hotel and added up all these little things just spoilt the experience of what was essentially a pretty good place.

Contemporary new hotel villa in a quiet location but close to town centre.
Pros:

Large and spacious rooms with excellent lounge area. Hotel is new and contemporary. Complimentary ice cream between 3-5pm is great. Staff are kind. Parking was available. Very close to town centre which has plenty of food options. Free bicycle hire for 2 hours which was useful and gave an alternative option for transport.

Cons:

I thought the AC was loud. I found the noise disrupted our sleep. Breakfast lacked variety. We chose to stay closer to the town centre but the north island is more beautiful (however remote).
