The breakfast situation was disappointing. When we checked in we were given an A5 piece of paper with the breakfast menu to select our choices and time for the following morning. This was all fine. When we came for breakfast the next day, we were asked what we’d like to drink. There were no menus or drink lists provided or information available at the time to refer to so we could understand what was included. We ordered coffees and were asked what type so we said flat whites. Only when we finished breakfast were we told that these were additional and that we had to pay for them. Which also meant we hadn’t been offered the complimentary drinks included with breakfast. When we asked why that wasn’t mentioned we were shown the A5 paper from 24 hours earlier where in tiny print at the bottom it said tea and filter coffee were included. It would have been nice if they had just been clear and transparent about what was and wasn’t included when we were asked our drink order or even had the menu on the table that we could have referred to because it really left a very disappointing and off putting impression on the whole stay that until then we’d felt ok about. Though the rooms could also use blackout blinds as we slept poorly because the rooms were far too bright and the blinds didn’t block out much light. Overall a couple of simple changes could have massively improved the stay. So it was fine, but a bit disappointing, particularly the way they handled things at breakfast.
A high quality accommodation sited in a quiet and peaceful location with convenient parking almost to the doorway. High end finishes incorporating disabled access and convenience items provided very spacious ensuite accommodation accessed via an entrance hallway as separate rooms. All expected facilities were present. The bed was very comfortable with an excellent breakfast provided in the restaurant and cooked to time via prior order was provided.

The food was absolutely stunning and all sourced from the family run farm down the road. Super friendly staff and highly recommended to all who consider staying here.

Rooms weren`t serviced each day. Hair dryer but no mirror near a plug. Wifi didn`t connect in the room. Shower floods the floor.

You really can't beat a family run business, who have their heart in it. Food was amazing (shout out to the chef on that bakewell) but more importantly the customer service was outstanding. We will 100% be back next year.
