A real sample of Japanese culture in Takayama.
Pros:

Overall, this ryokan provided a perfect blend of comfort, tradition, and heartfelt service. If you’re looking for an authentic Japanese experience with outstanding food, soothing onsen baths, and hosts who make you feel genuinely cared for, this is a place you won’t want to miss. Although there was no mention of breakfast when we booked - you can pre order the night before for a little over £5 per person! We were served a very delicious traditional Japanese breakfast which was an absolute delight. We also enjoyed wearing the complimentary kimono robes around the ryokan.

Petit hôtel semi traditionnel
Pros:

Établissement un peu ancien mais très propre. Chaque jour on nous déposait un thermos d'eau chaude et du thé. La chambre était également faite tous les jours et étaient de bonne taille pour un hôtel au Japon. Il y avait également un réfrigérateur privé. Globalement l établissement était calme mais les murs en papier ne couvrent pas les bruits si les autres usagers sont bruyants. Attention, la salle de bain partagée est une sale de bain japonaise, il n'y a pas de douche privée, tout le monde partage la même pièce . Le bain était vraiment très agréable apres une journée de de marche.

A comfortable accommodation within easy walking distance to everything.
Pros:

The location was perfect, within walking distance of all the major sights. Our room was spacious and we really enjoyed the onsen every night of our stay. The staff were attentive and friendly. There were many places to eat very near by.

5 min walk from station and close to the Old Town and markets
Loved the Japanese style room

Cons:

We stayed on the second level
The male toilets and bathroom was on this level but the ladies was in the first floor

We did not feel warmly welcomed, despite being able to speak Japanese
Maybe the owner is shy

Best location in Takayama
Pros:

The room is very clean. Comes with toothbrush set, towel, a set of clothes to wear in the accommodation.

Shared bathroom with the same gender. Female toilet is at ground floor, male toilet is at second floor.

Free parking beside the accommodation. The accommodation is located at the central of takayama. Walkable distance to Genta beef noodle shop, highly recommended that shop too!! 3 Chome Honmachi, Takayama, Gifu 506-0011, Japan
