As a medical professional and a long-standing guest with an excellent reputation on both Airbnb and Booking.com platforms, I was extremely disappointed by the conditions of this property and the manner in which the situation was handled.

Upon arrival, the apartment was in a highly unsanitary and poorly maintained condition. The issues included dirty floors, stained towels, a visibly unclean toilet brush, opened and partially used shampoo bottles without caps, heavily stained pillows, garbage in the outdoor area, and food leftovers left inside the barbecue grill. The overall condition of the apartment fell significantly below acceptable hospitality and hygiene standards.

Due to the state of the accommodation, I personally purchased new white towels and a vacuum cleaner during my stay in order to maintain a basic level of cleanliness.

The most serious concern was the presence of rats in the garden area connected to the unit. Considering the current hantavirus-related public health concerns in California, this represented a serious health and safety issue that should have been treated with urgency.

I documented the condition of the property thoroughly through photographs and videos from the moment of arrival until departure. Despite repeated complaints and submission of evidence, there was no meaningful response or effective action taken for more than 60 hours. Instead of focusing on resolving the sanitation and infestation concerns, communication from the host shifted toward questions regarding discarded old pillow and used shampoo bottles.

Overall, this experience reflected a serious failure in property maintenance, hygiene management, and customer support response.

There were lots of bugs! You name it flies, spiders, ants. Then to top it off I wanted to wash some clothes and they had a drip of detergent left. I asked the Host for more detergent on Wednesday didn't get it. Thursday "managers are too busy will try to send it tomorrow". Hello, I was leaving on Friday! I had to go and buy my own detergent. I was seriously disgusted at the outdoor patio never ever been cleaned. The fire place doesn't light. The amenities in the building are just as horrendous. Would never recommend. I am an AIRBNB, VRBO, host and I would be mortified if my guest had this experience. Do you think they gave me money back?? NO!! They kept my deposit said someone would call me and never did. STAY AWAYY tons of other options in the Hollywood/WEHO area.

AC didn't work for the first half of our visit, keeping overnight temps in the mid-80s. Wasn't fixed until the third day. Property manager initially blamed us for having temps set to 68° rather than 69-70° but the AC already wasn't working when we arrived. Nothing in the kitchen cupboards (plates, basic cooking supplies). We were also strongly discouraged from using the building lobby or talking to staff if we had our luggage.

The only reason I’m not giving a 10 is because, although the owner clearly goes above and beyond to provide detailed instructions (including a YouTube video and a dedicated website), we ran into an issue upon arrival. We didn’t have mobile signal, so we couldn’t access the video where the exact location pin was shared. I contacted the owner, and he responded immediately, which we really appreciated. However, it was a bit stressful trying to navigate back and forth with a video that wouldn’t load due to poor signal.

I’d suggest the owner include the location pin directly in the confirmation message to avoid this issue in the future.

Felt like we were in an illegal sublet. No info about the pool or exercise facilities except for instructions bypassing the lobby reception by taking an elevator from the parking garage. Stated instructions to not mention to staff or other residents that we were staying there.

Kitchen supplies (cooking tools) somewhat lacking.

Apartment hadn't been cleaned upon arrival. The A/C wouldn't turn on. Curtains were not hung in one bedroom (were in closet).
Very delayed or lack of response from manager during our stay. Have not paid promised compensation and no response thereafter.

The patio was coated in a thick, sticky sap. After ruining clothes by sitting on the furniture we noticed it covered everything from the floor to the grill to even the gate. Contacted management several times with no response. That was a real bummer as we would have loved to enjoy the outdoor space. Unsure how the cleaners or owners overlooked this issue.

4 PM check in is pretty late. Paying a full day for only 8 hours (1/3rd of the day. $100 for an earlier check in seems annoying as a customer. Also the cleaning fee was way too much; $200 for a $350 stay. I get that it’s a flat fee, but seems a little steep.

Staff could use better customer service skills. We paid $100 to have the extra bed prepared only to find it locked at check-in and then we had to set up the bed ourselves. In addition, we had left a wallet in the apartment after check-in and the property management didn’t seem to care to get it back to us. We had already left LA and offered to pay for it to be mailed, but the staff insisted we pick it up. Thankfully, we had a contact still in the area that could go pick it up.

The master shower could use some shelving, it was difficult to have my stuff on the floor.
