One of the worst place I have stayed at.
Pros:

Cons:

I had an extremely unpleasant experience at Hakuba76 in Sanosaka and would strongly advise others to avoid this place.
The hostel's in the middle of nowhere with no nearby food options, restaurants, or convenience stores. Public transport access is limited, which makes getting around unnecessarily difficult.
The accommodation itself is also far below standard. The dorm room was overcrowded with around 16 beds and only one tiny bar fridge to share. The bed frames are cheap and flimsy, making loud noises with even the slightest movement. The mattress is extremely thin - you can feel the metal frame underneath pressing into your back. The blanket and pillow provided are also far too thin for winter conditions, making it difficult to stay warm at night.
However, the most concerning part of my stay was the behaviour of the staff.
During the night, another guest in the dorm was snoring extremely loudly, making it impossible to sleep. I quietly moved to the common area to rest. In the middle of the night, the owner’s mother came in, physically touched and pushed me without consent, turned on all the lights, and started shouting aggressively. She then forcefully turned off the air conditioning directly above me while I was trying to rest.
Another staff member who was also sleeping on a sofa downstairs was woken up in the same rude and aggressive manner.
The owner later apologised and said it was because the living room is a “common area” and not for sleeping — but this raises the question: what are guests supposed to do in the middle of the night when the dorm is uninhabitable? There was no effort to offer a solution or help resolve the situation.
After initially apologising, the management later denied the entire incident to Booking.com and refused to provide any refund, even though I only stayed one night.
I highly recommend staying in the Tsugaike area instead, it has far better food options, easier transport, and a much more enjoyable experience overall.

Pros:

The environment was pretty good like any hostel

Cons:

The beds are literally a joke.. not to be fussy in a hostel but honestly I booked a week and literally couldn't stay the whole time I had to leave. And instead of like accommodating something else or even refunding the remaining days they didn't seem to care at all I was leaving because their beds were terrible.. they also don't keep the heating on so it's usually freezing there.

適合認真來滑雪或有開車的人，整體非常推薦！ 訂房網站沒有寫的很清楚但很多附加服務： 1. 每天提供雪場接送(Goryu/47…最遠到Iwatake)，早上約8:30出發，回程約16:00接回。回程時會順便停便利商店讓你踩買，很貼心

Like a family!
Pros:

The staff were amazing! Alan and his Mum took great care of us- made us breakfast and dinner and drove us to and from the slopes!

Cons:

It's a little difficult to get to places to go out for dinner/drinks and ubers are expensive, so factor that into your budget :)

非常值得再来！
Pros:

设施齐备，干燥室，健身房（游戏娱乐室），卫生间，洗衣间，洗澡间（男女分开）都非常好；出行方便，附近的雪场都会接送；早餐非常好，每天都吃很饱！房间也挺大，放行李很方便。

Overall a great hostel experience. Very homey and cozy. Would recommend for anyone looking for affordable and great stay
Pros:

It was a cute hostel, ran by seems like a family, very friendly and accommodating. They have great breakfast selection every morning, you can reserve for dinner which we did for 2/5 nights that we were there, both dishes were amazing and homemade. They have a good drop off/pick up service for guests going to and from the ski resorts. Shared bathrooms were always clean with plenty of toiletries available for guest to use. Gym is a plus, they have a really good set up for a small gym. They are located across one of the ski resorts which was only a 5 min walk from the hostel and a bus stop across the road which was really convenient. Over all a great 1st hostel experience, would stay again!

Cons:

Slightly far from where the shops and festivities are but we honestly ended up liking it as it was quiet and not too much going on outside. Bus and drop off/pick up service came in handy.

アクセスとプライベートを重視される方向けかな？
Pros:

内装がリニューアルされていて、部屋もシャワールームも綺麗で清掃も行き届いていて気持ちよく利用できました。朝食も家庭的な必要十分な種類と量（適時補充してくれる）の料理で満足。若い女性のスタッフの方（英語）が色々と気を使ってサポートしてくれました。

Cons:

中国の方と思われるスタッフの方が3人いらっしゃいましたが、日本語が話せる方は1人で、ただ、忙しくされていて、チェックインとチェックアウトのときしかフロアにおらず、翻訳ソフトがあるとは言え、英語が出来ない方は不便に感じると思います。チェックインでダブルブッキングがあり、先に入室された方が出て、清掃が終わるまでにかなり待たされたのが、象徴的な出来事かと思いました。

Pros:

The property has been recently renovated and was extremely clean and beautiful. The amenities were very well equipped — I was pleasantly surprised to even find a Dyson hair dryer. There is also a gym and a game room, which create a nice shared space for guests to relax and socialize.

You can really feel the owner’s attention to detail throughout the entire property, and the cleanliness was impeccable.

The biggest surprise, however, was the food. Breakfast is simple but offers a good variety, and everything was incredibly delicious. Knowing that the owner is a former chef made it even more impressive — the quality truly exceeded expectations. I would love to try dinner next time.

Highly recommended, and I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent
Pros:

Alan and other members are really great hosts. Everything was handled well. I had a very warm welcome from them and other hostlers. Alan went an extra way to drop my jacket to the bus station before my bus to Tokyo left. I really felt connected to everyone in Hakuba76 and had a lot of meaningful moments in just two days of staying here.

We had an amazing stay! Host Alan, his mum, and the rest of the team were incredibly accommodating and kind. They even provided free drop-off and pick-up from ski resorts from Goryu to Happo-One, and could also pick us up at Happo Bus Terminal.

They went above and beyond by helping with our luggage as well, even though there was absolutely no obligation to do so. Taxis were very hard to find, and when we asked if they could drop us off for a fee, they kindly agreed.

We’re so happy to have found this gem and would definitely stay here again if we return to Hakuba. Thank you to the whole team for keeping us warm and well taken care of through the winter! ❄️😊

There is a interesting story about the name Hakuba76.
Pros:

I don't do Review. But if i do. there is something special. The Staff is Amazing. They make you feel like home. This place even have Gym and Playstation 5. Clean and comfort vibe.
Near to one of the Skii Resort. about 5-7min up slope walk. 1-2min drive only. one of the Quieter slope you can find in Hakuba. They provide pick up at Train station. also offer transport to slope at 8am and pick up about 4ish. as of the date i visited in 7-11 Jan 2026.

I was sick on the last 2 days of my trip. Down with fever, flu and cough. They really take good care of me. make sure i medication, food and water.

The boss do has passion on snowboarding and we share great conversation and sharing on our board discussion.
There is where i found out how the name " Hakuba76" came about. Pretty interesting. and one its pretty then hard to not remember.

Highly Recommended! But you really have to experience it yourself too.
