Firstly, the location is ideal as ithe property is located inside the ancient city. IThe city wall is just a 5-mihute walk away while the best restaurans are within waklimg distance. The host and staff were very friendly and helpful, answering our questions and making sure that we were well taken care of. We love the room which was very clean and comfortable. Although breakfast wasn't included in our bookings, the host took all thr trouble to prepare a complimentary , delicious home cooked breakfast for us on both days when we were there.

The hotel was located in the old centre. The staff was great and also the breakfast.
The driver, pur guide, was arranged by the hotel. Hé was also a very good guide.

First of all it needs to be said that the service was exceptional from beginning to end. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, you felt like coming home. The driver picked us up from the station and brought us back again when we left. We booked a separate day with him, on which he took us to some famous tourist spots outside the city. He even showed us his house and we got to see what life in a local Chinese village is like.
The breakfast also deserves a special mention. Every morning we got to enjoy a freshly made Chinese style breakfast, which was just amazing. I definitely recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to get a more local feeling and experience a bit more of the Chinese culture and lifestyle than you would in a “normal” hotel. I’m sure everyone will be welcomed with open arms by their lovely staff!

The staff is really nice. They picked us up from the train station, show us around the city and we booked with the same driver a tour to the grottoes and the suspended temple. Breakfast was huge and traditional, so good! The room is big, the bed confortable, all good stuff. They had some food in the food and water bottles, which were much appreciated. A nice surprise was the japanese toilet in the room. Definetely a luxurious stay!

O hotel Five Blessings adota como política fazer o hóspede se sentir verdadeiramente abençoado por estar lá. Eu e minha família nunca nos sentimos tão bem tratados. O serviço é excepcional. Quartos confortáveis, amplos e limpos. Café da manhã muito bom. Aconselho, ainda, o serviço de transfer (com custo extra) para os pontos turísticos mais distantes do hotel, pois o motorista é muito bom e gentil. O hotel fica muito perto do Museu da escultura da China, que é lindíssimo. Ele mesmo é bem bonito, decorado com muito capricho.

Everything! The room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was made fresh every morning. Location is perfect in the old city walls.
The highlight is the staff! Heartwarming people who are going to make your stay memorable. I highly recommend asking to get Xin Yingjun as your driver to go sightseeing. He drove us everywhere we needed, recommended us restaurants and temples. He knows the city by heart and has so much to share. We couldn’t visit the Hanging Temple because of the weather, but I don’t regret it at all - he immediately came up with another plan that allowed us to visit so many beautiful temples in the city. He is very funny and energetic and such a kind person, he is going to make your stay one to remember!

Todo un diez sin duda el mejor hotel que hemos estado en china, una pena que no pudiéramos quedarnos más noches.
La amabilidad de la gente que trabaja allí es una pasada te hacen sentir como en casa. Y el chófer que contratamos con ellos las excursiones de las cuevas y el templo colgante muy bien, amable. Simpático y siempre atento mil gracias 🫂

Our stay at this hotel was fantastic from start to finish. First, the location couldn’t be better—right in the center, close to all major sights, shops, and restaurants. The hotel itself feels brand new: modern, beautifully designed, and impeccably clean. Our room was stylish and comfortable, and the overall design really added to the experience.

Breakfast deserves a special mention—everything was cooked fresh each morning, with great flavor and plenty of variety. It felt more like dining in a boutique café than a hotel buffet.

But what truly made our trip memorable was our driver, Xin Junyi. He was exceptional—funny, helpful, extremely accommodating, and just a genuinely good person. He drove us everywhere we needed, arranged local tours, and even welcomed us into his home to show how Chinese people live. It was such a meaningful, warm experience. We loved spending time with him and genuinely felt taken care of.

We highly recommend both the hotel and Xin’s driving/tour services. This combination made our stay unforgettable.

The staff, especially the boss was really nice, he picked us up and introduced some spots in datong. Upgraded the room for us and it was very comfortable, spacious and beautiful.. Location was slightly further from there the activities are but adds on to the traditional vibes. The boss also offered to pick us up when we are done, but we chose to walk back after a good meal.

Oh my goodness! This was a treat :) it is in the old city walls where there is tons of shopping, eating and sightseeing. We were also easily able to book a tour that picked us up at the hotel for the big sites light the pagoda, hanging temple and grottos. We wanted an English guide so booked through another source, but the hotel would also arrange for a taxi service if you wanted.

The city wall is just across the street and you can ride bikes up there and during the evening there are shops and bright decorations. The 9 dragging screen with the glasses tiles is also a short walk. Museums, pagodas, temples, quaint streets and busy markets are all within walking distance.

It is a bit away from the new city center and the south railway station (where all high speed trains come in) … BUT they arrange for free transportation to and from the hotel. It was apparent at every step of the way that those working were eager to please and wanted the stay to be perfect. They upgraded our room free of charge when they saw we had two kids and only 1 bed. The larger room was available so they have it to us to make the nights more comfortable.

They also provide a free breakfast each morning and the food was outstanding. They made it to order and over fed us each day. Laundry machine and detergent is available for use. The facilities are very newly updated and clean. We wished we could have stayed for longer.

Nos ha gustado todo, ya que el personal ha sido muy amable y ha estado siempre dispuesto a ayudar; nos buscaron un conductor para ir a las Grutas y al Monasterio Colgante que resultó muy bueno también.

We had a great stay. The room was comfortable, modern, and better than the photos—new furnishings, good quality finishes, and all the toiletries you might need. Thoughtful extras included a plug adapter, a Bluetooth speaker, and a quality hair dryer. On arrival the room was at a pleasant temperature, with snacks and a fresh fruit plate waiting for us. The location was very good: inside the old city walls and a few minutes walk to the main area of the old town.

Best of all, the service was outstanding. The staff were genuinely helpful throughout, and the person who looked after us went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed and shared great restaurant tips.

We’d gladly stay again and highly recommend it.
