Everything, lovely place, wonderful staff, so friendly and helpful, ideally situated for walking round Ljubljana

I have stayed in the full range of accommodations, from campgrounds at national parks, to indigenous eco lodges in Thailand, to your standard large hotel chains, to ultra-premium, ultra-luxury resorts consistently ranked among the world’s best. April 1550 went directly to top of my list for accommodation experiences. It eclipsed all other experiences! Over our five-night stay, the owner, Nataša, was there daily. She checked in on us in unobtrusive ways, provided (what I consider to be) extra services to us without our asking, and was happy to tell us about the local city and culture when we asked. The remaining staff members were also exceptional. The property is stunning and one-of-a-kind (8 or so total rooms). Breakfast is absolutely Do-Not-Miss! They use all local and seasonal ingredients, offer a wide range of options, and offer at least two (one savory and one sweet) traditional dishes each morning (none repeated during our stay). Everything about this property was perfect – even down to the hairdryer. [I have never stayed anywhere that offered a high-quality hair dryer and have always just accepted that as a fact of life. It is not a fact of life here!] April 1550 set a brand-new standard of excellence for us. We cannot imagine being satisfied with anything else in the future. We will return to April 1550 and Ljubljana!

Our stay was wonderful - just as nice as the ratings would suggest. The breakfast was super delicious and all regionally sourced. The staff went to great efforts to make our stay as memorable as possible. Also great location in the old town of Ljubljana!

I cannot say enough about this sweet, charming, amazing hotel. If you are going to Ljubljana - stay here. Amenities, staff, location, breakfast (do NOT miss breakfast!)... literally everything.

The location is very convenient. Right at the foothill of the castle in the quiet corner of the old town center. It is a lovely homey space. The staff is excellent and always there to help. I really appreciate their eco-friendly approaches. I had a to-go breakfast that’s are well prepared without any plastic waste. Fantastic stay!

Beautifully designed hotel. Perfectly refined taste and style. I loved the design books. They bent over backwards for us due to early flights and a misplaced passport.

Where to start...from the moment you step in to April 1550 you feel welcome. The hotel is an oasis in Old Town, Ljubljana, and every detail and design of the hotel has been carefully considered and planned. Our room exceeded expectations and was extremely spacious and clean. Little touches as well were appreciated; slippers, welcome biscuits, bottled water in the room, flannel for removing make up etc. Very comfortable too!
And then on to breakfast! This was a treat in itself. Locally sourced and homemade produce, as well as some of the best coffee, really was the icing on the cake.
Finally, something that you won't get from looking at the photos, the staff at April 1550 are its best kept secret. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They'll welcome you as if you're a part of the family, and even after only staying two nights, we wish we were!

We liked the facilities, clean and modern. Location couldn't be better and the breakfasts were great, but the real gem of this hotel was the staff, superb service, warm and kind, nothing was ever too much, made us feel very welcome. Thank you.

The staff at April 1550 were incredibly kind and welcoming to us during our short stay. They prepared an excellent, detailed guide of local eateries and places to visit (helpfully including days of operation), and we enjoyed their recommendations. When we had an early departure, they lovingly packed us food to go with all of their special touches. The hotel is an ideal location, on a quiet street just a short walk from two main areas with lots of outdoor dining, cafes, shops, and the castle. I really enjoyed the design aesthetics of the property and wish we had scheduled more time to just soak in the beauty and relax in the courtyard.

April 1550 is a delightful, beautiful boutique hotel. We can't recommend it highly enough!

The breakfast, all cooked there is incredibly varied and delicious, with wonderful fresh juices and superb coffee.
The hotel is just a street away from the busy centre, so is lovely & quiet.
Reserve well in advance , there are only 8 rooms!
