April1550 Boutique Hotel

Absolutely everything! April 1550 exceeded our expectations! We stayed 3 nights and truly wish we could have stayed longer. It’s well located at the edge of “Old Town” on a quiet street. Owner Natasia and her staff are amazing hosts. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. Having been built in 1550 this historic building has been beautifully restored with clean lines and modern charm. The breakfast is phenomenal! Everything is homemade with locally sourced ingredients. The selection is amazing and the presentation is picture perfect. We highly recommend this boutique hotel for anyone looking to be pampered.

Tout était parfait. L’accueil des « April ladies », l’ambiance «  comme à la maison »le calme, le raffinement des lieux, la gentillesse, les petites attentions, le buffet du petit déjeuner cuisiné par une cheffe, l’Emplacement très central pour visiter Ljubljana… tout se fait à pied. Pas de parking mais possibilité de déposer les bagages puis d’aller garer la voiture dans un des nombreux parking de ljubjana ( renseignent transmis à l’arrivée).

the highlight of our stay at April 1550 was for sure the care and attention to detail of the staff, all the ladies went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed. the breakfast was exceptional (all other hotels after this have been held to its standard and failed). we are travelling with our dog (a greyhound) and the staff was very sweet and accommodating with her, overall an amazing experience! you’re in a beautiful house 5-10 minutes away from all the turist spots and surrounded by good restaurants and cafes. I cant wait to go back and will definitely still at April 1550 again.

Very nice emphasis on design. Simple, clean and functional. Superb breakfast featuring local foods. Great staff.

Breakfast was incredible! They so sweetly packed a breakfast to go for the day we had to leave early before breakfast service.
Every detail of the hotel was well thought out. Such a beautiful hotel with a big heart!

Boutique feel, the staff were really friendly and it’s in a great location. The breakfast changes every day and they were all delicious. On a day we were leaving early (leave about 7am for Bled at the weekend in the holidays!) they made us a wonderful fresh packed lunch with a fabulous coffee to go.

Staff and owner that clearly care about guests. Rooms and public areas decorated extremely tastefully. One of the best hotel breakfasts that I have ever had. Location is ideal, central but quiet.

We absolutely loved everything about this charming boutique hotel. From the amazing April ladies who were so friendly and welcoming, to the classy decor, the sublime locally sourced breakfast (like no other hotel breakfast) and the great location.

Loved everything about this place: location was perfect, breakfast was freshly made and locally sourced, staff was friendly, room was lovely and had good air conditioning and thoughtful touches.

Das Hotel ist mit Abstand das beste Hotel, in dem ich jemals gewesen bin. Alles ist neu, sehr sauber und wunderschön eingerichtet. Eine wunderschöne Terrasse, ein fantastisches Zimmer mit Klimaananlage. Die Besitzerin und das restliche Personal sind unglaublich herzlich und zuvorkommend, es mangelt einem nie an irgendwas. Alle sind so freundlich gewesen, ich habe mich auf Anhieb wohlgefühlt. Das Frühstück war klein, fein und sehr lecker, alles war sehr liebevoll vorbereitet. Das Badezimmer war ebenfalls wunderschön, sauber und es fehlte mir an nichts. Das Bett im Zimmer war sehr bequem!

Gorgeous room and lovely breakfast using local produce. A great little courtyard for breakfast. Perfect location on a quiet street but moments from the shops and cafes and the old town. And a short stroll to the start of the walk up to the castle. Natasa the owner has clearly put her heart and soul into creating a gorgeous place from which to explore Ljubljana. Natasa and Tina were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Beautiful hotel, extremely friendly staff

Das Hotel liegt sehr günstig in der Altstadt gelegen. Man kann zwar nicht vor dem Eingang vorfahren, aber nach der Ankunft mit dem Taxi sind die 100 m Fußmarsch ist absolut vernachlässigbar.
Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig, mit einer großen bequemen Couch, einem Tisch, Sessel, Schreibtisch nebst Stuhl und mit einer Klimaanlage ausgestattet. Die Betten wirklich bequem. Nicht zu fest und nicht zu weich.
Dass wir keinen Fernseher gab, hat uns nicht gestört, da wir ohnehin einen Laptop dabei hatten.
Das Bad war geräumig, mit einer Regendusche, sehr hochwertigen Produkten und einem beleuchtetem Schminkspiegel.
Dazu war alles top sauber!
Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit einem Balkon, von dem aus wir in den Innenhof schauen konnten. Uns hat es nicht gestört, wenn sich dort andere Gäste aufgehalten haben (was relativ selten der Fall war) und ich denke, daß es die (wenigen) Gäste im Hof auch nicht gestört hat, wenn wir dort oben gesessen haben.
Man konnte zwar die Straße vom Zimmer aus hören, aber letztendlich war es nicht störend. Wir konnten nachts sogar die Fenster vollständig auflassen, so dass wir die Klimaanlage gar nicht brauchten.
Hervorzuheben ist auch die Freundlichkeit und der Service. Egal, ob es um die Vorabbestellung des Taxis, sonstige Fragen oder Bitten ging.
Aber wenn es etwas gibt, was nicht mehr zu toppen ist, dann ist es das Frühstück. Auch wenn es keine riesige Auswahl, wie in anderen Hotels, gab, hat es Maßstäbe gesetzt. Hier konnten wir deutlich merken, daß (fast) alles jeden Morgen in der hauseigenen Küche frisch zubereitet wurde.
Ich fasse meine Bewertung mal mit folgenden Worten zusammen:
Wir planen jetzt schon unsere nächste Reise nach Ljubljana, nur um nochmals ein paar Tage in diesen Hotel verbringen zu können!
