Host didn’t reply to messages requesting info about whether there was a place to put luggage if my husband and I arrived earlier than the 3pm check-in time. The lack of response spurred me to come on here to check at the reviews. I hadn’t paid extra for free cancellation, and in hindsight, I’m glad I hadn’t because if I had, I would have cancelled at that point.

We got a later train in case we were stuck with suitcases for hours. It was after 6pm when we arrived so I don’t know if the room was ready at 3pm but all was fine with check-in, and housekeeping staff were there early in the day during our stay so I imagine the rooms are generally ready on time.

It wouldn’t suit someone who wants luxury, but for a place to sleep and wash, it was perfect for us. It was noisy at night as it’s quite close to a nightclub, but not enough that it bothered us.

The smell.

Mögel på väggen, ingen ventilation i badrummet. väldigt kallt i rummet. Ingen personal, det tog 6 dagar att få svar på min fråga om check-in vilket gav mig mycket ångest och stress så jag var gränsen på att boka en annat rum. Wifi fungerat inte alls. Mkt oljud från barer utanför.

Cold room with only one heater, lack of hygiene products such as shower gel and toilet paper, too much humidity, and people seeing frogs making it impossible to close them.

Very dirty, I’m convinced the bin was the only thing changed. Random bottle of lynx wash in the shower with hairs on it, hairs and an insane amount of dust on the window and in/on the bed side lockers

This was an absolutely terrible experience. This building is unsafe and your room is accessible to the general public. I arrived several hours after my intended check-in, assuming that surely the room would be clean and ready for my stay. The key to the room was not in the lock box that the host said it would be in, instead it was in the door, and the door was wide open. The bed was unmade/slept in, meaning that the sheets had not been changed from the previous guests and the room had not been cleaned at all. The entire building was very eerie and I did not feel safe there whatsoever. I left as soon as I saw the state of the room, and had to scramble to find a different place to sleep that night as I am not native to Galway. The host never apologized and didn't even respond to me until contacted by Booking.com. He then texted me that he was "on his way to clean the room". At this point, it was over 6 hours after my check-in time (a little late to get to cleaning the room). This property is unsafe and clean, and the host is unresponsive.
