Pros:

Lo staff è cordiale e disponibile.

Cons:

Del Grand Hotel non ha nulla. La stanza aveva un forte odore di naftalina, le lenzuola non erano pulitissime e il bagno, senza box doccia, si allagava completamente.
La cosa peggiore è che la stanza non può essere chiusa a chiave dall’esterno. Abbiamo espressamente chiesto al receptionist, che ci ha detto che dall’interno ci si può chiudere dentro, ma uscendo la stanza rimane aperta.

La zona è molto brutta, tra grandi stradoni trafficati e lontana dal centro. Consiglio di alloggiare a Sepilok (prenotando con grande anticipo) oppure più in centro a Sandakan, che merita una visita per vivere la vera vita malese.

Nice staff, good location, several good restaurants for dinner and shops for buying small items around.

Cons:

It's sad there's no breakfast option in the hotel. Also other residents were walking around the corridors at night, talking loudly and smoking, and the smoke would get into our room (such things like this should be monitored and disciplined by the staff).

Pros:

Disponibilità e gentilezza dello staff, posizione decentrata dalla citta che ha permesso quindi un soggiorno tranquillo. Il quartiere mi ha dato senso di sicurezza ed è ricco di ristorantini locali malesi / cinesi. Camera molto grande e spaziosa. Split che non puntava al letto e quindi permetteva di rinfrescare la stanza in maniera ottimale. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

Cons:

Il bagno era caratterizzato da water praticamente sotto la doccia e attaccato al muro, un po’ scomodo.
Suggerirei allo staff di monitorare meglio gli spostamenti notturni dei clienti nel corridoio poiché questi, in piena notte, tenevano cellulare acceso con musica e questo provocava diversi risvegli.

decent hotel on the way to Sepilok
Pros:

easy to find, staff was friendly

Cons:

far from the city, was difficult to catch a Grab, so went to the few restaurants nearby. like many bathrooms in MY, nothings stops the water from going everywhere

Friendly staff who were very helpful. Spacious room and enough restaurants and cafes in the local area.

Cons:

Smell of smoke throughout the upstairs corridor and room. Several cockroaches and lots of smaller insects.
