I am writing to express my disappointment with the accommodation I booked for the night through Booking.com. Upon arrival, I was very concerned to find that the property did not meet the standards or description advertised.
Specifically, the lawn had not been mowed in weeks and was overgrown past my knees. Inside the house, there was rubbish on the floor, a broken television that appeared quite neglected, socks scattered about, alcohol left on the bench, and hanging laundry obstructing the space. The overall condition was unclean and unsettling, to the point that my friends and I felt frightened rather than comfortable.
Due to these issues, which are not reflective of the listing, we decided not to stay and left immediately to find alternative accommodation that was safer and cleaner.

Strange toilet and shower area, as I was expecting ensuit facilities.
Pros:

no breakfast here, tea was provided but not milk or sugar or coffee

Cons:

No one to meet me there and I did not receive a passcode to enter the building. So I did have to wait for someone already living there to let me in. I rang ph but no answer. Phoning the owner so I could get my keys to my room, a wait of 15minutes. This was a strange experience as a single women, and the permanent resident (male) helped me contact owner, which was fortunate.

Pros:

The manager was extremely helpful, polite and friendly, the bed was comfortable the other guests were friendly, the door had an extra simple security lock on the inside. A large window gave a feeling of extra space. The shared lounge area allowed me to relax before retiring.

Cons:

Possible the bed could have been in the opposite direction this would have allowed the street light to fall at the end of the bed instead of shining on ones head.
