Excellent location, friendly and accommodating staff. Comfortable rooms and facilities and the prettiest pool I’ve ever seen!
L’hôtel de la cité est un bâtiment historique incroyable avec un emplacement idéal dans la cité. Le restaurant La Barbacane sert un menu exceptionnel. Le cadre de la piscine est fantastique. Le personnel est aussi très aimable. Tout est fait pour que vous passiez un séjour de rêve.
Nous aurions aimé plus d’informations sur les horaires du bar des jardins le soir.

You couldn't get a better location - and with parking. The hotel is beautiful, with nice extra touches in the room. It was our wedding anniversary, and they left gorgeous chocolates, champagne, a beautiful note and love hearts on the bed. Still and sparking mineral water placed in the mini fridge each morning and evening, turn down service with chocolates. Breakfast was good - hot and cold, gluten free bread and small cakes. The view from the porch next to the breakfast room was spectacular.
The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows are a little too high and soft. It's a very old hotel and this is showing here and there. Whilst the breakfast was good, I didn't feel that it matched the cost or caliber of the hotel. It would have benefited from a little more variety.

The place to stay to fully experience Carcassonne. Worth it to get the room with the terrace. Gorgeous views and relaxing garden.
The tub/shower combo is tall to climb into and the tub is steeply sloped so it is dangerous to get in and out of and water sprays all over the floor which is also slippery. We are pretty nimble, but someone with limited mobility should request a room that doesn’t have a tub/shower.
Location & tranquility
Our room needed updating & the air conditioning stopped working at 35c.
It says five star?
This hotel in the middle of Carcassonne can’t be beaten for luxury and location. A truly five star experience. The beautiful garden with eating area and the pool, means you can combine exploring Carcassonne with relaxation. A real gem of a hotel.
