We would like to inform you that we are very dissatisfied with our stay at the hotel.

When we arrived on the first night, there was no hot water. The room is in a very bad condition overall. Several things are worn out or almost broken, the room is not clean, there are cobwebs, the beds are very bad and you can clearly feel the bumps in the mattress. The pillows are very hard and uncomfortable, and the roller blinds are broken and cannot be raised. If you open the window, there is so much noise outside that it is very difficult to sleep. In addition, there are flies in the room all the time and there is no proper ventilation.

The room has not been cleaned once in four days. This is unacceptable.

The bathroom has also been a problem. After a shower, the floor is constantly wet and we believe there may be a leak or a problem with the drain because the water does not drain properly. So I had to take extra towels myself and put them on the floor so that it would not be dangerous to walk on. This is especially important as my partner is disabled and cannot risk slipping on the wet bathroom floor.

I also had to take an extra blanket as the bed was so hard and uncomfortable that you could clearly feel the mattress. I did this because it was impossible to contact the staff when we needed help. I later informed the staff that I had taken extra towels and a blanket from other rooms because it was necessary.

Furthermore, the rooms have a very strong smell of tobacco and even the towels smell of tobacco. Several of the towels have stains and look dirty, even after they are supposed to have been washed. This gives a very bad impression and we cannot be sure that they have actually been washed properly.

My partner has already paid for his stay for 5 days and I am paying as an extra person. Given the circumstances we have encountered, we want to leave today as soon as possible.

The cleanliness was unacceptable. Most notably, the towel provided had dried fecal residue on it—it was absolutely disgusting and 100% had not been cleaned. The bathroom was in terrible condition, featuring a toilet with a deep, ugly yellow stain.

Another major issue is the window setup. There are only thin, transparent white curtains and no blinds. Since the sun sets very late in Latvia (after 10 PM), the room stays bright, making it impossible to sleep early as the sun shines directly in your face.

Furthermore, the WiFi is non-existent. While you can technically connect to the signal near the reception area, there is no actual internet access. As it is a self-service hotel with no staff presence, there was no one available to address these serious hygiene and technical problems.

Overall, the hotel is quite run-down. The walls are cracked, the air conditioner isn’t working, the fire smoke detector in the room is broken, the toilet paper holder and other fixtures are barely hanging on due to wear and tear, there’s a musty smell in the building, and the room is a bit chilly (though there was a heater in the room, which only started warming the space on the second night). However, the bedding was clean, and the room was tidy, despite the dirty armchairs and bedspread.
There is no soundproofing—you can hear everything the neighbors are doing, and even though we were on the top floor, we could clearly hear doors slamming on the first floor.
We liked the good location and the convenient self-check-in process.
