Difficult and unnecessary after a long very hot day. Shabby room
Pros:

The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable.

Cons:

The reception didn't know about my booking, they made a phone call and I spoke with the owner who didn't know what was booking.com, she told me a room would be 40€, on booking.com it was listed at 36€ plus 3€ city tax. She said to wait and she will come in 10 minutes. I was given a bottle of water, which was very kind but there were two little dogs that kept sniffing around me which became rather annoying. 30 minutes later the owner arrived. They still did not understand about booking.com and insisted the price is 40€, which I agreed to pay. I asked about breakfast, (it said included on the booking.com site), she somewhat reluctantly agreed to provide something, we discussed the time and I did say I just wanted some coffee and a little bread etc. She then took me to the room and showed me around, all seemed ok. I then went for a shower, after trying to get hot water for a good 5 minutes or so I gave up. I went to ring reception, the phone didn't work until I wiggled the wire in the wall which seemed to then make the dial tone sound. She came up immediately and proceeded to tell me I have to turn the control to the left for hot water. I had tried both directions several times, I do know how to operate a shower. She got on the phone and while talking turned on the sink tap which did run hot and suddenly the shower was running extremely hot. No apology, just that I didn't turn the handle the right way. I then started to notice how shabby some of the decor was and was very surprised by the condition of the towels, all beautifully monogrammed but tatty, frayed and even with holes in. When putting something in the rubbish bin, the lid fell off. There were several obvious areas of damage etc which had been badly repaired or left. Breakfast was difficult as it was not what I asked for, I didn't want what was offered which made it awkward. The owner was apologetic but frankly I couldn't wait to leave.
