Pros:

De ligging 5 min van metrostation en precies tussen keizerlijk paleis en Nijo Castle (15 tot 20 min lopen). Begane grond en zolder, dus erg ruim.

Cons:

Japan's huisje, dus bijzonder.

Pros:

Big apartment, clean, nice location, staff very welcoming as they came towards us with umbrellas and explained how the switches in the house works.

Cons:

Personally I did not like the at least 2 cameras INSIDE the apartment in the entrance, we got told about how to use the things inside the house, but not informed about the 2 cameras, one slightly put behind the mirror in the entrance.
We also saw those with the red led on a few times, and different times without, so most likely someone was looking when LED was on. Felt creepy.
On a different note, personally 42000 yen for 3 people per 1 night felt really high priced. My bad that I booked for sure, but the price was at least 10000 JPY lower, then while paying I did not see the additional expenses for cleaning added as a side payment in Booking.
This was our most expensive stay in Japan for the whole trip, we agreed it was not worth it unfortunately.
No major problems despite the above, overall it went fine

Family friendly and convenient accommodations in the middle of Kyoto
Pros:

Youngmi is a wonderfully gracious host. She met us at the train station and led us to her guest house so we would not get lost. We are a family of 4 and had a very comfortable house to ourselves. The house could fit more people comfortably. She was available for questions and was very helpful. When she found out we wanted to forward our luggage to our next destination she made all the arrangements.

Fabulous place to come back to after a day jam packed with sightseeing!
Pros:

The property was spacious. Loved having a lounge area that was comfortable after a day sightseeing. It was close to bus & train & to many food options. The hosts were amazing too! They went above & beyond to make us feel welcome & informed about sightseeing activities & how to navigate around Kyoto.

Fantastic stay with memorable hosts
Pros:

We had a wonderful stay at Chelsea24, notably great thanks to the amazing hospitality of owner Yonmi and her sister. They were fun, gracious, and thoughtful. The space itself suited our needs perfectly, and it was extremely easy to get anywhere we needed to go using the metro or buses. Taxis were also less than we expected, with our larger group it was more time (and sometimes cost) efficient than Metro.

It’s pleasant enough and very convenient, but facilities really need some upgrade or replacement
Pros:

Location is extremely convenient and it’s spacious

Cons:

The facilities are really a bit old, I was expecting much better for the price and according to the photos shown. Having cello tapes around the TV screen was a bit worrying.

Best family space in Kyoto!
Pros:

So spacious! We were greeted by our wonderful hosts who were so kind and welcoming to us. We truly felt we could relax at Chelsea24. It was fantastic to be able to have the space to put the baby to bed and watch tv and talk downstairs. The host even baby proofed the stairs for us so we felt extra safe. I cannot thank our hosts enough.

Amazing place, easy access to everything. Snag this place asap.
Pros:

This place and the hosts were AMAZING. Super helpful in meeting us and answering questions, while also giving us privacy. Took our picture in komonos when we arrived and left it for us as a gift. Was such a cool and nice touch. Very easy access to restaurants and bars (try Ki-West!) and shopping arcades. Home was cozy, and the futon beds were surprisingly comfortable.

Cons:

Absolutely nothing. Maybe a couple dividers upstairs to make bedrooms more separated and private? This is minor, loved the house and loved the stay

Pros:

Chelsea24

Quiet and central house.

You are very close to imperial palace and Nijo castle and also close to the underground. Therefore, it is perfect for sightseeing because the interesting places are all over the town.

The house is on a small and quiet side street with nice small local shops nearby. We slept very well in the above bedroom, which is very large and nicely decorated in the Japanese style and quiet.

The double windows have mosquito nets.

Downstairs, you have a shower that can be set to your choice temperature, and you have 2 wonderful Japanese toilets.

There is a fridge and freezer, microwave, toaster/grill, electric cooking plate and a kettle, double sink. The living room joins the kitchen and has a sofa that sits 4 and high stools at the dining board, also serving 4.

The TV has about 12 programs all Japanese, so we did not use it since we do not speak the language. If you have an hdmi cable, you can plug in your items.

We think you should stay 6-10 days if possible. There is a lot to see and to do in this very nice imperial town.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and want to mention the super friendly owners, Kaboyashi, her brother, who has a barbershop just round the corner (very recommended, I had a perfect haircut), and his wife

They were like friends when we left.

Thank you for making our stay in Kyoto special!

Away from the hustle and bustle, yet plenty to see and do and eat nearby.
Pros:

The friendly owners and the helpful suggestions provided. And it’s quite spacious giving you plenty of space to unwind in.

Cons:

Everything was fine - though so be wary of some steep stairs and low doorways (particularly if over 5’10!).

Pros:

Perfectly situated to enjoy Kyoto. Nice quiet area with supermarkets, nice restaurants and bars just around the corner. Walking distance (if you like walking, otherwise close to the tube) to Nishiki Market area and other must see tourist attractions.

Cons:

Stove and cooking area isn’t the best but it is functional.

Spacious, clean and comfortable 2-storey house. Great value in Kyoto.
Pros:

The property was very clean and comfortable. It was also exceptionally spacious, which was perfect for us with a toddler and a 4-year old. The stairs to the second floor sleeping area were steep (as in all Japanese houses) but the door at the bottom made us feel safe knowing that our toddler could not access the stairs.
The owners were extremely helpful, providing some toys for the kids to play with and going the extra mile to unexpectedly help us and our luggage in the walk to the subway station. Anything we needed, they were able to help us with and this made the stay so much more comfortable.
The property has a separate entry foyer (great for storing the stroller, shoes, jackets, extra luggage etc ) as well as defined kitchen, dining, living areas, bath and shower room, laundry and the huge upstairs sleeping area I would not have thought I could find a place so spacious in Kyoto, especially for this price.
A few minutes walk to supermarket, convenience stores, subway station and bus stop. Less than 10 minutes by train to Kyoto station.

Cons:

Nothing, but the walks to Nijo-jo and the Imperial palace were both longer than expected from looking at the map.
