From Tuesday 2 April until mid-June 2024 our swimming pool and fitness facilities will be closed due to renovation work. Our Wellness facilities will have reduced opening hours. The worst most expensive stay in my life
Pros:

Overall, the building itself is great and relatively speaking it's a top notch hotel if you take out the location out of consideration completely.

Cons:

That was the most expensive overnight stay in my life coming to ~240 euros for one person. I had to stay there because there were no other options at all in Arhnem or it's surroundings 4 months in advance of the Kanye West concert.

The hotel wasn't situated well for me at all given I had no car rented due to logistics and taxis are mega expensive in that Arnhem village during any time window. 70 Euros for 12 minute ride? That's crazy! Taxis in London cost less like what!? Phahahahaha. Jokes aside, I hate to even remember the whole experience of getting to the hotel and from the hotel to anywhere. I felt like in the US with no walking infrastructure what so ever. And OK, it might be the type of hotel but for me it was a complete nightmare.

All in all. 240 for a room I slept 4 hours in was awful as well. For 240 Euros for 1 night (!!!) it wasn't even prepared properly: very little shower gel and shampoo in the big refillable bottles they have there; a leaking sink; no slippers in a room for 240 euros. Just a nightmare. Really. For 240 Euros they should meet you with a red carpet at the entrance in advance of the provided check in time.

The guy at the check in was comical as well. I hand him the passport, he looks at me and asks "Is that the passport you have?". Like bro, phahahahahahahaha. What's even in that question? It checked out with the provided information on booking. Like, yes. That's my passport, bro.

If I could choose again, I would have rather never gone to Arhnem and that hotel because it was a huuuuuuge waste of money. It's cheaper to fly to Istanbul in Turkey and everything and I mean everything was better and cheaper there on each step of the journey.

Prima hotel, maar kan opknapbeurt gebruiken
Pros:

De grootte vd kamer, bubbelbad.

Cons:

Kamers kunnen wel opknapbeurt gebruiken. Wat verouderd. Badkamer was niet 100% schoon. Vriendelijkheid bedienend personeel kon beter.

Beautiful hotel, nice and charming staff!
Pros:

Very nice decorations. Beautiful hotel. The facilities: pool, Sauna and Gym! The staff were very helpful and Happy to help very Charming frontdesk gentleman’s! We enjoyed our stay in Van der Valk Duiven!!

Cons:

There were some places that can be cleaned a little better. But thats just my OCD.

Het buitenterras is uitstekend bevallen

Cons:

Wat tegenviel was de hotelkamer. Inrichting van de kamer niet stijlvol. Behang vloekt bij de vloerbedekking en de rest van de wanden kaal. Verder veel beschadigingen/viezigheid op het behang en de meubels. Bij het ontbijt viel ons ook de hygiëne op. De vloerbedekking was vuil, tafels niet schoon en op de etagère naast ons lag een dikke laag stof.

Fantastische plek om tijdens een evenement als Suzan & Freek in het Gelredome te verblijven.
Pros:

Heerlijke, ruime, schone kamer. Zelfbediening voor essentials, drinken en nootjes, etc. was fijn. Goed en uitgebreid kunnen ontbijten. Fijne bedden.

Cons:

Twee liften zou voldoende moeten zijn alleen betekent tijdens topdrukte met uitchecken al gauw dat we meerdere keren de lift voorbij moesten laten gaan omdat deze al vol was.

Zelfbediening van drinken etc, was absurd duur.

Föhnen was lastig. Fijne föhn maar het snoer was strak, kort en stug dus makkelijk föhnen ging het niet.
