The location and the friendliness of the staff were excellent.
The interior design was also amazing. We stayed in the King Room, and the room was huge.
The shower wasn’t that great. There is only a rain shower, and a handheld showerhead is missing.
For the price, you could also expect breakfast (even though we knew there wouldn’t be any).
Exceptional room modern boutique hotel with a great bonus of the LP player! We loved dancing away with our cocktails 🍸 so glad we picked a stay at the bungalow..it’s a pity it was just overnight. Shout out to Ismail for great communication throughout and accommodating to our needs, cocktails in our room while waiting for our table at the restaurant. Manik was great for his brilliant knowledge and history…ideas for future trips to beautiful Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 p.s l hope the new cocktail is on the menu Ranj’s Arrack Coffee! named after me made by Manik! Irish coffee with a twist of arrack! Very yummy 😋. Definitely recommend a stay here, great hospitality all round 😊

Stayed in the queens room, which was lovely and centrally located. No breakfast included but loads of place within a few mins.

We ate here last year and decided to book a room. We weren't disappointed. The room matched the food. A little bit disorganised on checking out, so a point dropped. Food reasonably priced. Quality excellent. Wine also good. For a little treat would recommend. They need to offer breakfast.

The room was beautiful. A bit noisy due to traffic sometimes, but overall we had a good sleep, so can't complain. Staff was very polite. Ismail, who welcomed us, went above and beyond and made our stay perfect.
After booking, we received messages mentioning a complimentary breakfast at another hotel. This was also in the hotel info material. This is not actually served anymore. I'd suggest removing these messages, as they can confuse people. Upon further checking, we indeed realised we booked a room without breakfast.
Location is perfect, staff are excellent and the food is incredible.
The room was very spacious and beautifully furnished. Staff were very welcoming and made our stay very comfortable, you could tell they cared about providing a good experience for their customers
Would recommend this boutique hotel! There is a restaurant downstairs so there is a bit of noise in the evening but it wasn’t an issue for us :)
We stayed at The Bungalow for one night and absolutely loved our gorgeous and extremely spacious king room. Its design paired with the setting in a historical building and in the centre of the Dutch Fort made it a very charming and ideal location to visit the town.
We had dinner at the infamous restaurant and enjoyed a traditional and tasty selection of seafood curries.
Service was very good too, and staff always greeted us with a smile and a genuinely kind and enthusiastic attitude.
Given the restaurant is also beautifully decorated and that the patio provides a very enjoyable respite from the heat, it would be great if breakfast was offered on-site. We felt this was a missed opportunity to make our stay even more memorable.

Wonderful staff. Comfy bed and well stocked mini bar. Nicely furnished . Good central location and nice & cool.
Nowhere to hang clothes. Bathroom a little noisy as it was open to the room through the ceiling. Quite dark. A bit noisy from the restaurant and street in early evening.
Everything. Ismail gave his his what’s app for quick response to any wish. The room was just perfect and large and tastefully decorated. The restaurant was great. Location bang on.
Nothing. It was truly perfect. The two rooms have only been available for the last two years although the restaurant longer. Most blogs don’t mention this as a hotel due to the new rooms. Book it while it’s a semi-secret. (But not when I come back!)
Everything from start to finish was fantastic about our stay at The Bungalow. The staff were friendly and attentive and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The room was perfect and the food and service in the restaurant was exceptional. We had the best end to our trip at The Bungalow and I would recommend staying here to anyone who will listen!
Nothing to fault.
Great location, beautiful room and building, really chic and well put together. No pool but a perfect location for scoping out the fort for walking the ramparts, eating out, going to museums and heading to the beach.
Nothing not to like!
