The initial price of the room was quoted at USD 108. I booked the room for my brother and contacted the hotel via their official WhatsApp number to arrange payment by card online. During this communication, the staff member handling the booking doubled the price. When I questioned this, he provided a breakdown of costs to justify the increase. As I had limited time, I assumed the explanation might be valid and proceeded.
Later that same day, the management informed me that their staff member had acted fraudulently and had intentionally attempted to overcharge me. While I appreciate that the issue was eventually identified through internal monitoring, the way it has been handled since then has been highly unprofessional.
I initially requested that the excess amount be refunded in cash to my brother, but I was told that taxes would be deducted. I find this unacceptable, as I should not be responsible for any deductions related to fraudulent actions committed by the company’s staff. The company should bear full responsibility for the incident.
We then agreed that the refund would be transferred to my bank account. However, from 9 May to 15 May, I have still not received the refund. I am from Canada and currently work in Uzbekistan at an international engineering firm, and I hold a local Uzbek bank account. Domestic bank transfers typically do not take this long; such transactions are normally processed promptly.
Most concerning is the complete lack of communication from the company. I have not received any phone call, or apology regarding this issue. This level of service is extremely disappointing and does not meet basic professional standards.

Excellent hotel, everything was at a very high level — cleanliness, comfort, and overall atmosphere.
But I would especially like to highlight the staff. The level of service was truly exceptional: every question was answered with patience, respect, and genuine attention to detail. You can really feel that they care, not just doing their job.
Special thanks to the entire team — you made this stay truly enjoyable and memorable. I will definitely be back.

In der unteren Etage des Hotels bekommt man jede Durchsage ca. alle 5-7 Minuten ungefiltert mit. Aber besser, wie auf den Bänken zu schlafen

The hotel - known locally as 'Khamsa Hotel' is located in front of the boarding gates and the duty free shops and cafes and restaurants.
It's in an unbeatable location.
The windowless rooms are very small and the AC is not too effective. I had to ask for an additional AC unit which was very noisy.
One issue:
In order to access the hotel, you need to pass through airport security screening.
If you are in transit, you will need to have an onward boarding pass to do this.
Since my connecting flight was more than 12 hours away, I could not be issued with a boarding pass for my 2nd flight since these are issued 3 hours before the flight.
They are also only issued in the checkin area by the airline staff.
I had to be given a hand-written pass by the friendly staff at the transfer desk which allowed me to pass through the security screening and access the hotel.
Then, 3 hours before my flight, I returned to the transfer desk and waited while one of the staff went to the check-in area on the landside of the terminal where Azerbaijan Airlines staff then issued my onward boarding pass.
A bit of a hassle.
