NA
We stayed for 6 nights as a family with our 1-year-old, and honestly had a great experience from start to finish.
The location is perfect for exploring the Cotswolds, with Witney just a short drive away – a really nice, quaint village to have nearby. It worked really well as a base for getting around.
The staff were brilliant – friendly, genuine, and very easy to deal with. One thing that really stood out was seeing some of the staff come in on their days off just to have a drink. That says a lot, because most people don’t want to be anywhere near work in their free time. It really shows how good the atmosphere is and why the service feels so natural.
The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable.
There’s also a traditional gastro pub on site, and the food was a highlight. The menu is varied and the quality is well above what you’d normally expect from pub food. The specials were actually changing every couple of days, so not just there for show.
Breakfast was excellent – a good continental selection (teas, pastries, fruit, cereals) plus the option to order hot dishes from the menu.
Big plus for families: they were very accommodating with our child and made everything really easy for us at mealtimes, which made a big difference.
Overall, a really enjoyable stay and we’d definitely recommend it, especially if you’re travelling with family.
Everything was perfect!
Great location .
We were going to a wedding in Minster Lovell.
Great breakfast and restaurant.
Nothing.
The food is excellent and in particular the dinner. Fantastic. The staff are happy to help. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and it is dog friendly. We have booked to stay again.
Nothing
Location and helpful friendly staff.
Smell of drains outside of property.
The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable.
We had the dinner on all 3 nights which was excellent.
Nothing.
Large room
The toilet seat was stained yellow from urine and was broken. Only a shower above a bath. Steep step into room.No complimentary water, no herbal teas, one member of staff was rude to me, I asked for heating to be put on as room was cold told I had to wait 1/2 hr ! Paying £135 per night I wasn’t prepared to sit in a freezing cold room. The menu prices are extortionate for a pub - I checked online before going into restaurant and £20.95 for a burger and chips was the cheapest meal, I was given a menu and this price had increased by £2. When the burger arrived it was poorly presented stacked so high with a huge lettuce leaf unsliced, supposedly aged beef, it definitely was as it was virtually impossible to chew, very fatty, the bottom bun was soaked with fat, the chips were just thrown on the plate with a huge gherkin. Probably the worst burger I have tried to eat but couldn’t, so £20.95 wasted. The waitress asked if it was ok and because I voiced my opinion that it was not she then said that I should not stay here again, as I was in the Cotswolds and that the prices were relevant, so rude and totally unprofessional of her to say this I felt. I had a ground floor courtyard room but unfortunately I forgot my ear plugs so was disturbed by the person above.
Delightful staff. Very clean and well presented. Food excellent.
Plentiful parking, spacious bedroom and very helpful and friendly staff. We had an excellent evening meal (the staff were knowledgeable about gluten -free options) and there was a good choice at breakfast.
The room was too warm the first night - hot water pipes run through the built-in wardrobe - but turning the radiators off solved this problem. Slightly awkward entrance from main road (near a bend with fast-moving traffic) and narrow grass verge to walk the few hundred yard to the nearest footpath running through the woods at the back of the inn.
Very friendly atmosphere. Staff were very helpful.
The rooms are very clean and have everything needed, the beds are very comfortable.
Lovely food though a bit expensive.
Great location.
There was nothing I could think of that could have been better.
We were very happy with our stay.
Le staff professionnel, souriant . Le diner et petit déjeuner copieux et savoureux
Great pub with excellent food but what elevates it was the quality of the staff
There was a bit of a strange smell in the car park
Sizeable family room that was dog friendly that was clean and had nice bedding on the beds. The rooms were in a stone built annexe next to the country pub. There was lots of parking. Breakfast was very good with a few hot options to choose from together with cereals, fruit and croissants. Location was on a country road on the outside of small villages.
There was a sofa bed in the room that was getting old and wasn’t very comfortable to sit on. The shower was in the bath and there was no rubber mat to help prevent slipping.
Friendly, clean, tidy
Gorgeous buildings, friendly welcome, accommodation very good and clean, comfy bed, nice toiletries and comfort tray
Nothing to note here
Firstly, it is an ideal location to explore the area. We arrived and went to check in - greeted by a polite and helpful young man (Jake) we were soon checked in and decided to stay in the bar for a drink. We were then helped by Julia (owner) and Anna with local knowledge and the like to assist our stay. The room was a good size, really clean and had everything you would want / expect. We ate out in the evening and had breakfast the next morning. Really well presented and cooked food to our exact requirements. We met our friends who stayed for a few nights with their dog - the place is super dog friendly. They had also had dinner there which they advised was really good.
There wasn’t anything about the stay that we could have improved.
